I'm really don't know any more than the names. I saw the car 30 years ago with Webers/289. I think it was red or maroon in color then. Just curious to see if any old photos show up as this car has a connection to a friend.

That one from the Car Craft Nationals was wicked...and the merc next to it was very healthy as well. Very cool cars...I think they were both out of WI.

I think I did more burnouts today than a whole season of drag racing! Put some more street miles on the car, and spent some time with alot of old friends. Where did we end up? Making laps at Irwindale with full tilt drag cars on the oval:

And- a few impromptu drag races:

Looks like it belongs to this comet, loose in the windshield. Probably the last remaining part to this Awesome Car.

Too wide on top, that IS the fender. Lettering matches up as well.

This Comet was originally the Motor City Marauder owned by Norm Wertz.
The car was then sold to Lou Zangara, both from the Detroit, MI area.

    The car is gone.

    Regards,
    Dennis

Thanks Dennis, I dont think I've seen a pic of it being the Motor city Marauder. That pic of the fender looks recent. Looks like someone has a really cool wall hanger. Hope all is well. Ken

Anyone book a trip to the Reunion in Bakersfield this year? It appears that both Roy and I have been "accepted" into the show, as exibition entries. The welcome mat will be out, albeit laying in the dirt....

This thread sure has gone into a slump...is it related to the U.S. credit rating?
