Man oh man, when it rains it pours! lol They all look good. I think the combination of James Ds and Btrsweets grill work really helps that ugly ass grill, but I think it really needs some sort of bumper on there to help break up that "shovel" look. Hmmmm.

  6. Yeah, I like Btrsweets grille treatment very much.

the grill i have is messed up, bent and banged. I really want to run stock appearance though. That 39 is a fairly rare car and I feel bad go too far with it!

  8. Aww, c´mon, if it´s banged up anyway, why not take the chance to make an improvement? The original is a very funny looking thing IMHO.

I'm with you on that the top of the grill with that odd looking V just jumps out at ya. Could spend a bit of time and make a grill out of aluminium.

I think if I saw this one coming down the street I'd be looking for a taxi medallion on it.

got the photoshop itch this week
so decided to do my truck
or should a say a picture of a similair one ,cause mine's a wreck!!
got the inspiration off of an unfinished larry watson/bill de car project
it's not gonna be a total remake ,cause it had those early corvette sides as well ,and i'm not diggin that much..
also the back window was a full panoramic one ,or would have been if it ever got finished.
so far it has a sectioned cab ,removed hinges and cut open front section.
well ,something to stribe for i guess..

I think you nailed it. The top treatment adds just enough to take away the Ford look but still kinda follows the original design idea. The bumper is right on the money. Good job! Oh wait! On the bumper it looks like two small dents in the center pointy area! Whadja do, run into the Photoshop garage? :D

been day dreaming about my 51, things I would like to do and or just wondering how it would look..

how about a 53/54 chevy or Ford victoria roof on an early chevy.. wondered how that would look. maybe a 55 cehvy roofs that have a slimmer look and smaller rear pillar

here are some roof ideas (not the best pictures but maybe someone can make them work)

could not find a decent 55 hardtop picture to use.

btrsweet, thanks, you go the stance about right.. still kinda looking for a more sleek side pillar without a chop or milder chop. the side C piller between the rearwindow and side glass is kinda thick on the stock roof and the rear window look small for the car., the car has a chop look with the short side window height

(the roof crown is to big and the rear window is to small preventing a sleek look which i why I thought a different roof like those above or from a 55 might look better.

  24. How about this? I chopped the front of the roof a little, slanted it towards the rear. Then pushed the complete rear screen assembly forwards, although that remains un-chopped. It looks a lot less chunky.

    Stock...

    Not...

thanks Btrswt. the last one with the bigger rear windo is what I was thinking. it takes the turtle hump out of the rear roof curve.. much better to my eye

How about the other type of window. kinda matches the lines of the car better imo.

  29. I wonder if any of these other windows are the right width to fit the car?
