The pre-war cars have always been models I have coveted especially coupes. This yearning was full filled over the weekend when I towed home a solid and very complete 39 Olds series 60 businessman's coupe.

This was found on the local craigslist and was stashed in the garage of a home about 5 miles from my work. A deal was struck and it is now waiting for me to complete the 58 big window pickup. This will be a cool ride when it is done. Just have to decide if it goes back to original status or is "upgraded" with a new drive train. The current patina will not be retained whichever path is taken. This car deserves a new coat of color.

    They ARE still out there.

I always liked the 39 GM coupes. Yours sure looks like a solid piece to work with. I'd have been happy to find one this nice 45 years ago.

ELpolacko - Nice subtle changes that make a nice body even better.

Those pictures give me a lot of ideas but also raises a bunch of questions on how you did certain elements. I will be sending you a PM outlining my areas of confusion which hopefully you can provide some guidance on. Thanks for the link.

No problem. I really liked that car by the end of the build.
