I bought a pair last year for $5.00, at a flea market, in the original boxes. Boxes are being preserved, curb finders are being used on my 48 DeSoto.
I love em, and they really do work!

I bought some of those gadgets that would save gas with the high tech spark plugs, vacuum gages, timing tools, additives, fans, etc. until I was saving 120% of my fuel In fact, I had to stop and syphon 5 gallons of gas out of the tank to keep it from running over. :)

My Dad's 57 Chrysler Windsor had that! There were two fill ports in the rear deck. He had some sort of black grit he used. I think there was a lever under the dash to release the grit. It was the only one I ever saw.

My friends are amazed by my car's powerful engine throb since I put on my Mellow Tone Exhaust Tuner! Girls love it too.

It was well worth the $2.98 + handling charges that I paid.

Hey !....I bought one of these from JC Whitney back in HS. One of the very 1st "hot rod" accessories I ever got.
Put it on my 57 Dodge Coronet. I remember timing it one time, then set it somewhat mid-range.
The engine ran great at about 80, but then was kinda doggy around town, so I'd adjust back(?) so it would run right. Often times I'd forget where the heck its relative position was supposed to be and just didnt bother anymore. Plus, my dad informed me; "...you keep messin with that timing..you'll blow a hole in a piston!".
