Thats the car that made me realize there is life outside of kustoms! Cant wait to see the build progress. I was only 1 when you guys originally built it, but thumbing through my dads "old?" magazines was something i always enjoyed. Good luck on this build, and are shirts still available?

Yes. The shirts are still available. $20 includes shipping and you can paypal to my e-mail address Barakat1911@aol.com or you can send a check. Your the age now that I was when the car was built. I'd like to trade ages.
    Thanks for your interest!

It would be worth trading ages just for the knowledge gained:)

Wow Rick, that is a nice body (the car). It is fun to cut up a good restorable car. Especially since there are plenty of restored ones around to show how much we improve them. Who is going to be doing the cutting? Will be fun to watch.

Nice looking sedan body. How much are you going to chop the car?

Dale- Pete is going to do the chop just like the first time.
Lynn- Pete has the dimensions. He will be laying it out today and I will be posting the "taping" dimensions. Pete and I are picking up the frame from storage and I am taking the body to his shop and mounting it to the frame today.
Pete says he should be finished with the chop this week.
5 guy- I am sure you will be as pleased as I am.

A great car and I can remember sitting in high school reading that article. Somebody needs to post the original Hot Rod Magazine Road Test on here for people that don't remember it or were to young back then. The best way to sum this car up is that . . . . . .it put the "HOT" back in the word "HOT ROD"!

Just stumbled into this thread...talk about an icon to hot rodders across the world!!! This car was an inspiration to anyone building a budget minded hot rod in the last 30 years. I am glad to see it coming back in it's full glory.

It is always good to come back home after a weekend of hot rods and customs to such good news. I read every post on here...and intend to follow it to the end.

    Lynn:
We mounted the body to the frame this morning.
We are cutting 3" at the windshield, 2 3/4" at the door jamb and 2 1/2" at the rear.
Same as the we did before.

Lynn: we are dropping the back window into the panel about an inch so it doesn't become a mail slot. When I told Pete I was going to youtube it, he rolled eyes. At least he didn't say no. I'm still going to try. For those of you who really know Pete he is modest.

Hey Rick, I couldn't open the pics of the body on the frame. All there is is that stupid little multi-colored box. I always thought Pete liked being famous, maybe not a movie star though. Tell him hi for me and you guys keep having fun.

  15. No pics here either. Only the dreadded red X's.

I'll try again on the pictures.

  17. Yes Rick, your red X's are as nice as any I've seen.

  18. So seeing i haven't seen it mentioned. Now that it's 30 years later and motor technology is what it is, just how bad a powerplant is gonna go in this sucker? You know that this ones gotta be quicker!!! ;)

Hey- all of a sudden the pictures showed up. Can anyone else see them from post #283? If you can, anybody know what the car is in the background? I guess Pete can work on anything.

    Milwscruffy-
How fast should it go without having to go crazy on safety equipment. I have the motor out of the E & B coupe that ran 11.03 @ 127 in 1985. We don't want a cage, 5 point harness, trans blanket or motor diaper. All that stuff kills the original intent of the car. Fun on a budget!

OK Billsill45: Thanks for making fun of me. Either that or your the only one that can see the pictures. I'm trying something else. If I can't get regular photos on here how am I ever going to get the chop on youtube?
