Wanted something a little different and I had this here sport coupe, so here we go.- (not my porsche in the background.)

I want this to be in a 40's style, plan is to be on deuce rails, flatty, banjo, wide 5 all around. Budget build

I dont think I have seen too many if any sport coupes (kept sport coupes not coupesters) on deuce rails.

got kinda lucky I had this (39-1941 ish) flatty that had been sitting around for who knows how long. Checked the oil (looked like it was chaged last week!!!) Pulled a couple plugs, looked great!!!, engine spun easily by hand!! - in 10 min it fired!!!!

sorry for the shakey video I was working the starter.

this should be good if it comes out anywhere near as cool as your '41.

Let me know if you need anything... I have a stuck '41 flatty engine for parts at the house.

Car looks great! Not too many 28/29 coupes or sport coupes on 32 rails - makes me want to head to the shop and get some work done on mine. Keep the updates coming...

from a pile of parts to a mocked up roller does wonders for my motivation- will clear some room to roll it out of the shop for some better pics.

got back on this project after some time off. Still in mock up stage, most of the fab work done.

Wanted the later style ignition/pancake/crab style, so used a spacer/adapter from Dick Spadaro- great product! Now I can drop the fan down from off the generator where it needs to be

    radiator/grill mocked up.

Was able to pull it outside to get a view of the stance after some ride height adjustments. I was going for a 40's style- high ride- pretty happy with it.

Cool Sport Coupe! I'm building a '31 in similar fashion, except for a 2.3L 4 banger. Your car looks good.

  27. What did you do for a lower front shock mount to keep it 40's. How about a close up of that. Been wondering what to do with mine.

um.. well I kinda cheated. You start off planning on useing old stuff and well, you know the rest of the story.

So the chassis is all welded up.

Today I put the body back on to tie up some loose ends and make sure everything is done prior to prime and paint. I am real happy with the stance.
