hey folks im considering a 97 exporer rear end for my project & need it wider by 2 1/2" , from 59.5" to 62", trans dap has the spacers, i havent run spacers b-4 so im concerned do u think there's anything negative about using a spacer that is 1 1/4" thick on each side? maybe a silly question but im safety minded, thanks in advance

I do not like spacers. :(
Sometimes they are necessary but in your case ... a inch and 1/4 ... I would just use a rim with more offset to the outside and NOT use a spacer.

If you are planning on a steel wheel ...

Almost ALL of the steel wheel manufacturers build rims with the offset you require ...
