  3. Well, not sure if any of my drawings fit the bill but they were meant to be more hot rod than custom and/or pre-gasser...

Yeah, sure...I was kinda thinking just passenger cars, but this one nails it pretty hard!

    I LOVE this one.

  7. Thank you Mr. Smith.

  8. Here's mine, just finishing up with the 302/5 speed upgrade. Pushed it into the driveway to bleed the brakes & clutch.
Should have it running within the next week.

I think both my cars are about equal parts hot rod & custom (God forbid that they be "custom rods", though). In their "not-custom" defense neither is a tail dragger, they don't have skirts or radical bodywork, and mag wheels didn't exist on street driven cars when I was a kid developing my taste:

Anybody else notice that on this thread, the early '50's GM cars outnumber the Fords and Mopars about 10 to 1?

Certainly not hot rodded, but these were typical....cars in progress daily drivers. Primer spotted in where work had been done....not the whole car, which seems to be the rule today.

  25. Well this is obviously a drag car, but I would love to see something along this style a little more streetable.

How are the majority of these cars pictured not considered Street Rods?
And I have one, and I know what it is. Even though there is no billet, and no tweed, they still look like Street Rods. Mine is faster than the average street rod.

Jeem, thanks for the kind words about my Olds! I've been a fan of 49-54 GM cars as hot rods since I was a kid.

Here's some pictures I have saved.

  28. My current project - 50 Pontiac TPI 350 not installed yet and my avatar was my 50 Chevy Sedan Delivery, 427 single 4 bbl turbo 400 drag car. Engine was back 10% but a couple mufflers would have made it a pretty fast streeter.
