Hot Rods Hot Rod Shoebox Fords

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Scotch Buzzard King, Aug 29, 2011.

  1. We've all seen the 1949-51 Ford customized in almost every way, but what I haven't seen are any shoebox Ford's that were/are hot rods/g***er/ridiculously-fast-and-built-for-it. I know there are pictures. Let me see some. :D

I like Brian B***' Shoebox. It's a brownish-red color with flames. I'll try finding some pictures..

    From Brian B***' website (b***kustom.com):

It doesn't throw out a strong hot rod vibe but it comes off more as a hot rod than a custom. Not to mention the sweet motor..

  6. I've seen this one before. I like the wide wheels in the back. This is what I'm talking about! I've got wide Cragars and a thirst for an all stock shoebox hiding them up under the rear quarter panels. I think why we don't see more of this is because the whole street rod phase before the rat rod rebellion almost completely burned it to the ground. Keep the pictures coming! :D

I'm having a difficult time finding ones of the variety you're describing. I do recall seeing some sketches of hot rodded shoeboxes in some magazines a few years ago though.

  12. It's hard to find pictures of Hot Rod shoeboxes. Post them if you've got them! :D

Bob Bleeds old shoebox. A ford with a nailhead is definatly a hotrod.

  14. I'll agree to that! :D

I think B***' coupe is a pretty good example of a hot rod shoebox. I remember him tearing *** down congress one year at the roundup. pretty much a hot rod.

  16. I had an article in this old book I use to have that had a high school kid with a Ford shoebox in the 50's. It was 100% Hot Rod. I can't believe that these cars aren't really remembered for that. It seems like custom took over, and speed was out.

  17. Still waiting for some more pictures if anybody has any. I'm not pushy or anything...:D
