So, I picked up this 58' Ford "anglia" ****** wagon about a month ago as our new family truckster. Goal here is to bring this mini back to a dependable daily driver / family weekend vehicle. Vehicle was imported from UK for the US market (LH drive) and at some point in the late 70's early 80's it took on an complete overhaul to include V6 Capri running gear. As you can imagine parts for both the ****** and capri are almost non-existent in the US, so its proving to be a little more challeging than anticipated, but I'm plowing through it.

I've put about 200 miles on it already, however suspension and brakes are the primary issues at hand for drivability. I have already patched it up, but I need to start throwing some parts at it. Windows and exhaust have already been done.

    Here is the hit list
    - F/R brakes
    - front suspension
    - rear shocks
    - floor pan rot
    - interior
    - headliner
    - dash
    - wiring clean up
    - heat / air
    - stereo

    Here are some PICS

Thats a cool little sleeper, must be a blast to drive. That wiring is scary though, are you going to rewire it?

  9. Thats going to be a great wagon when you upgrade those parts.

Far out! thats an interesting wagon. Our first ******s down this part of the world were in 68-69. They were going to be called Anglia's but that name was the same or simular that of a Nazi death camp apparently so they became ******s. That what I read many yaers ago anyway. The pic below is an English ***embled Mk1 Sport (1974) that I had about 15 years ago. All the best for your build.

Known here downunder as a Thames van. I remember seeing a few years ago in US rod magazines with SBC and SBF in them. Love the Cragar SS wheels :)

Nice to see a 100E ****** on here - Had one myself. - Similar colour - maybe a bit more orangey.

Lots of UK rodders had 100E's back in the dim and distant.

Looking forward to seeing the progress.

that thing is so cool I think the v6 engine in it lived on many years as the 3.0 in aerostar vans I wonder if a 8 inch rear from a MII or a pinto would fit in the rear

No, those will be much wider.

And this one already has had some suspension swaps.

Originally, they had some weird 4bolt boltpattern, and they didnt come with discs ( drums on all 4 corners )

I'm guessing it has the front struts off a Cortina or a Capri, and probably a rearend swap too.

    Thats all good stuff.

Those were cars that handeled well...

My friend had a stock Popular back in England, with that little 4 cylinder flathead it was faster to walk to the hideout.
I'd like to do a coilover conversion on my Capri, is there a kit available?

I got one too but mine is the 300e van that your squire (as they were known in England) was built on.They cut out the side panels and fitted windows and rear seats.Does yours have a one peice back door or a top bottom split hatch setup?. Mine is probably a bit faster than yours lol 351w with c4 and ford 9" best speed to date 100.40 x 12.95 seconds,I have a 2 door parts car if you need any bits and pieces , buy the way if you need to replace doors , the doors from a 4door car are the only ones that fit .........ask me how I know...........lol [IMG][IMG]

    Yeah.

There are some Rally stores that sell them, but not all of them ship to the States.

I'm pretty sure I got mine from Burton.

    Edit.

Part # RD459 or RD459D, and RD459A for the tool to adjust the height of the adjuster ring.

It has stock capri running gear and its fast enough for now with the kiddies.

I bought the coilover kit from Alachi parts in the UK. He has EVERYTHING for the 100E racing.

Kip has most of the trim pieces and what not.
