Hey Troy you should go and check out Greaserama at the Boulevard...I'm taking my 41 this year. Helluva lot less walking than the Speedway.

I will be attending the other show also. Can't afford the food and drinks let alone the gate cost at GG show! Have fun out there on the asphalt and drink plenty of fluids!

I've been at Greaserama most years since they had 80 cars at El Torreon. The last few years it's gotten more and more like going to a car show in a junkyard. The first few years, nearly all the cars had solid effort put into them and a reason for being there - they were HOT RODs or CUSTOMS, even if some of them were in primer. The last couple, there have been so many clown rods and "pulled the old see-dan out from behind the garage and got it so it would pull itself over to the drive-in" POS's that it's not worth going. Last year I felt like I should get a tet**** shot after the weekend.

The Punk Rods are good people, and they try hard, but this show is degrading badly IMO. The aggregate respect for other people's cars a**** the 'kulture' crowd that shows up is going downhill too, from what I've seen.

With all that said, I may stop by and walk the show, but not register.

OK, flame my *** off. See you at Goodguys.

  6. They (Punk Rods) claim they are going to be pickier this year. I'm registered so we'll see if they let my POS in or not, ha!

Ok I agree with Troy (Racewriter) that the show has some very bad rat rods but I like to sit in the shade and visit with friends. I've already looked at a million cars and am not going to Good Guys this year. Maybe I will go back there next year. No offense to Kirk and his staff, they run a good show. As for Greaserama, it can be a circus side show in some ways but look for me there. I'll be the one in the straw hat...

I agree with the junkyard statement, I wouldn't drive some of those across the street let alone go to a show. I still find it an entertaining show, but it's not for everyone. It's the first year I've had my car ready to go down there so I'm looking forward to it. They are being pickier, I had to submit pics to pre register. I won't flame you off Troy, but I do have a decent set of flame throwers on the old girl!!!!

No offense taken at all. That's the reason we've added the all years (as long as they're American made or powered) thing on Sunday. We have three events here in Pleasanton that are that way all weekend and two of them are two of our largest events of the season.

Hey Guy's " Kirk and his staff" are not putting on a show for your benefit. It's for one reason and one reason only and thats to make bags of money. What a novel idea, charge car owners exorbitant registration fees to register their cars and then charge spectators an even more exorbitant $24 to see the cars. Now, GreedGuys has figured out a way to squeeze a few more dollars out of their events with the "Sunday Charade" allowing up to 2011 cars to enter and pay a registration fee further ripping off not only them but the car owners and the spectators who have already been ripped off. You would have to pay and pay me well before I'd ever attend a GreedGuys event again. Even the NSRA hasn't resorted to the "Sunday Charade" and only charge spectators $14. Thanks to "Kirk and his staff" for putting on GreedGuys events. It's like highway robbery without a gun. I only wish I'd have thought of this scheme before Gary Meadors did. At least Walker of the NSRA provides quality radiators and event give away's while GreedGuys provide nothing but a rip off.

Wow, that was just horrible and low cl***. Some of the most fun I have ever had is driving my cars on the track at Good Guys shows and there is no other chance to do that on a Nascar track. This was uncalled for Gman or whatever the hell your name is....jeez....

Doesn't matter. Somebody who is as big a whiner as you wouldn't have been able to make it work anyway.

Hey, Poverty did they let drive on the track for free or did you pay? Too bad you never realized it, its just another money making scheme. BTW, nothing I posted was untrue. It was nothing but the facts. What's horrible about that? I'm not a whiner, I just choose not to be ripped off. Thats why I don't attend their events.

Actually, the spectator admission was untrue; it's $18 this weekend.

And nobody holds a gun to your head to go. If you don't like Goodguys, stay at home, sit in your chair, eat Cheetos, and do what you do best.

Actually, none of this is true.

-Spectator prices range from $15-$18. If that's expensive to you, then it is, for you.

-Sunday Charade? Adding more value to a day that is sometimes dull and poorly attended is bad? Seeing more cars than would normally be there is ripping people off?

-Robbery involves taking money from people against their will. Again, if you think it's expensive, then it is, for you. Tens of thousands of people each weekend seem to disagree with you.

-Uh, Gary Meadors didn't invent car shows. People have been charging to enter and/or participate in car shows since there were cars.

-Goodguys gives aways WAY more prizes that NSRA

Your rant is pretty sad and untrue. You are more than welcome to your opinion, but calling your opinions facts is pathetic.

OMG, do you have ANY idea what it costs to rent a Nascar racetrack? Of course they didn't let me do it for free. And I WANT business folks to make money, it's called capitalism and WE NEED THAT BAD or no one is going to have any jobs! You are an idiot Gman!!!

    Yea, yea...Meadors gets a percentage!!!

Walker on the other hand did shake my hand for free once.

Seriously...Gman, I know you have a problem with Goodguys. It seems to stem back to when they did away with a drag race at an event I guess.

You have done your civic duty by lighting the "signal fire" on quite a few Goodguys threads. We know it is for profit and are willing "victims" We know you have seen the light and would have to be paid to attend.

Basically what I am saying is even after stomping out the "signal fire," we will still have the dog **** on our shoe to remind us of you and your warnings. Thanks for your service, you work is done here.

    NOW GO AWAY!!!!

Gman, I'm really not sure what your deal is, but your vendetta is getting old. I said it last time, if you don't like it don't go, but there are some of us that see a value in attending certain shows, in this case Goodguys.

You are en***led to an opinion. At this point we have all heard it. This wasn't even a thread about why GG is good, or bad, or otherwise, it was about what hambers would be attending the KC show. We are officially counting you out for the KC show, so no need to reply back to this thread.

**edit**. I read angrygmans post at the bottom of page 2 and my phone took me to the bottom of page three. So my post was pretty redundant.....but so is beating a dead horse.

Sorry guy's the last I knew this was the USA where we have freedom of speech and choice. If someone chooses to pay to line Gary Meadors pockets with greenbacks to view 2011 Hondas, Camry's and Hyundais thats their business. I just choose not to do it. I can do that on dealers lots for free. Why does anyone have a problem with that?

You have freedom of speech and as stated you are en***led to an opinion.

    So are we!

Your hateful and uninformed rants are useful to only you. I am personally tired of reading your posts about why GG ****s.

The animosity you are picking up (very perceptive you are) is because this thread was only about who was attending the show, your comments were unwarranted and unwanted.

So I say again, no need for you to respond to this thread.
