How do you meet hambers at shows?

I go to a lot of events that other members are at, but I don't know who I'm looking for so I don't meet them. How do you know who's a member if they're not with a car you recognize? Do you draw an arch in the dirt and they draw the other half to make it a fish and then you know its another hamber? Just wondering how you guys meet new people.

 

I lay in wait in the bushes and see who knows the secret handshake and ass grab. Then and only then do I approach with caution just to make sure they aren't HAMB posers. I ask a few select questions like - isn't that Germ a square, or I love How Zorbas Ghost goes strait and true every time it hits the track. Then and only then do I extend my hand for the "secret" shake and ass grab.

I went to the Porland swap earlier this year and had a small cardboard HAMB sign hanging around my neck...traditional bling. No one said hi but alot of folks asked about it and i explained. I would think a HAMB shirt would work best. There were several pre scheduled meets for lunch and such but i never made it to any of them, too busy looking for goodies.

Aside from shows, there is a once monthly get together here in the portland area, and Washington too i think. If there are none in your area start one.

I try finding them by their cars and then stalking them until they get THAT feeling. It is awkward for the first few minutes but goes well after the first three or four "meetings"



Seriously, go to the Meat and Greets. Most shows have them if not organize one yourself. It is sad when an event may have 5000 hAMBers and only 30 show up to say howdy.

 

Im going to both kc mo shows this weekend. Are there meet and greets at either of them?

I've had one or two recognize my truck. And there's not awhole lot of blonde girls around here driving a truck like mine. So I've had a couple guys speak to me. *shrug*

 

Usually people don't talk to me because I usually glue my middle fingers up and I'm screaming obscenities at people while I push my way through them while kicking their young lol
