I'm guessing that the sign belongs to the owner and having the car displayed with the historical information was more important than the spelling. Bunch of old curmudgeons! But I still appreciate ya! ;-)

THANK YOU SPIKE!! A number of pages back (300-400 range) you mentioned your brother running the car but not much more. I'm SO glad you came up with some pictures!

It's a neat car that has seen a lot. It's dependable and fun to drag along and NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT! ;)

Great stuff guys! Keep it up...

I'm in the midst of a new build here at Zakira's. A BIG ONE! I'll post pictures soon unless someone wants to try to find a few, scan them and post them.. :D

My dad built the driveshaft for that car, as well as some other of Mickey's cars.

My dad, Art Naprstek at 14 years old along with his brother and friend in 1928 with a model T that they raced around the fields in River Edge, NJ and ten years later in 1938 with a midget on the boards at Nutley Velodrome, Nutley, NJ.
My apologies for the poor quality second generation photos.

These were the engine of choice for a few UMRA T/Q's back in the 70"s- would really pull out of the corners and hard to beat! They would do a gentle on and off the throttle during yellows to keep from fouling the plugs... think they only ran one or two years and the rule book got 'em!

Some friends of mine were involved with Roy Miller's car that ran a Kohnic.

Seem that I remember that they had several quirks such as something about the coils overheating and exploding if proper shutdown procedures were not followed.

Also for what it's worth. After seeing the pictures of the 88 car at EMMR, it was posted late last week on Hosehead's the Ray Tilley has gone to the big race track in the sky.

I seem to recall Ronnie Ambrose running the first Konig in a TQ with UMRA.

Yep, he and then the Moorman's tried 'em too. It was neat seeing something totally different under the hood.

But then I've always had a soft spot for two-strokes.
