This guy brought his hemi powered boat for sale at $15,000. He was even sporting a helmet that he called his "hemi head". The pin up model was beautiful.

I saw and talked to a zillion Hamb members and cannot remember them all. Had a good visit with my pal Don "Dads53" which is always fun. Here is his well known car.

this hand built T roadster belongs to Brent "babs59" who drove it to the show about 75 miles or so I think. I liked the y block power plant.

Admission was cheap to this event. To enter a car was only $20 (pre entry). It quickly filled up on Saturday and was mostly full in spite of the rain. At least it wasn't dusty like last year. There was a large tent that housed the stage and several bands played thru out the day. I love music but I am going to make this comment----
These punk rockabilly bands sound very much alike to me and play VERY FAST tempo.....WTF? why are they in a hurry? Just seems odd to me to be at a relaxed laid back event and the bands are playing 100 mph........I must be too old to understand. Please explain this to me.
I just don't think they sound all that great.....sorry.

Well known Hamb friendly trucker and hot rodder "BenD" was in attendance along with his pretty wife "MissyD" who was helping Marcy sell T shirts like hot cakes....

Here is Marcy the famous t shirt printer and vendor deluxe....from Texas and Wisconsin. Thank you my friend for letting me ride out one of the rain showers in your tent.

I was speaking in general terms for the entire Mid West region. I love the show at Ottawa and go almost every year. No reason to get all excited for crying out loud. Remember this is being read by a worldwide audience not just people in Kansas. I was trying to describe the holiday and the season we are now entering the rest of the year....

my pal Jay "Dr. Frankensickcle" who always has something creative at this event showed up with this motorized longboard and it was remotely controlled by a hand triggered device. It was capable of very fast speeds as well as slow cruising. Looked like fun to me.

About 5pm or so I realized I had not eaten since lunch and there were alot of good food vendors on the grounds and the prices were family friendly. I chose this place to eat.....
I had the "bleu balls" sandwich---OMG---so very good! and cost me $6.....it was a meal by itself.

As evening settled in and the sun went down, me and Stanlow69 sat along the road and watched the cross section of humanity go by-----just when we thought we had seen it all, something even crazier would go by-----hard to describe----but it was FUN!

I left at 9 pm instead of staying for the 70's animated sci fi flick on the big screen. And after another night of rest at our hotel it was time to rise and shine and return to the impoverished plains we call home. Today has been a day of rest and the cool weather is just what the doctor ordered. Many of my friends are still at the Greaserama show again today on Sunday. I could have stayed but it is also nice to be home. Thank you for reading about my trip and hope you can come someday and see this event for yourself. There is not another one like it in the country.

    Poverty Flats,
Another great narrated story from the master. I told larry that you had posted another adventure so he came in with me to read it. Like i have said before you are invited to Maine anytime. Just let us know and we will have fresh lobsters and blueberry pie waiting for you.
