That Chevy 2 rocks!! Kinda looks like the Shake Rattle and Run 57 Hardtop in the background on one of those pics too. Love those early drag pictures. Thanks for posting.

I spent some more time with Dad this past Sunday, going over more of his old photos,
trying to figure out where he took them and scanning them for posting and copies....

Anyway, here is the latest batch of pics.... While he's not completely positive where these were taken
(At 76 years old, Dad's memory tends to get a bit fuzzy at times!),
the dates on these photos, as well as a pit pass that was also in the box with them,
leads me to believe that they may be from the 1956 NHRA Nationals in Kansas City Missouri....
If anybody here can confirm this, one way or the other, please chime in!

Wow man...Thanks for posting all the pics. I had forgotten about the Gartlits Dart. Was that Mom sitting on the roadster in the first batch?

That was a (then) young lady by the name of Sally Rocker... She was "Queen" at the 1957 World Series.

And a big thankyou from me also Marty!! I was studying the pics and noticed this setup. Dropped axles are for wimps. Check out the spring. :D [IMG]

20. That's probably the best set of old photos I've ever seen from an personal collection. If pictures like that were the only thing ever posted on this site (HAMB), that in itself would be enough to keep me comin' back. Thanks for sharing. :)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Somewhere on the HAMB in the last week or so, I saw a photo of someone's recently acquired deuce 3 window project car that looked strikingly like one shown in this collection that had a radio antennae on the driver’s side. I'll have to dig around to see if I can find that post.

These old hidden family photos are absolute history that is best shared with others.

THANKS for taking the time to do so!

22. Just "KOOL", nothing else to say!!!

23. Wow! That's some real history there. I really enjoyed seeing the variety represented...some cars looked very well thought out and professional and others were pretty cobbled together. Hmmm...some things never change.

Awesome pics! It amazes me how much the dragstrip looks just like I remember it looking when I first started going in the mid 80's
