Is that a Ford Shotgun style engine, or a Dodge type Hemi? I've not heard of a Dodge Hemi having that many cubic inches. I bet that car will flat out haul ass!

I'm selling a running steel 40 coupe for a friend. It's a "PRE-GASSER" but not HAMB friendly so I can't post it. If anyone interested, please drop me a PM for details.

There's a stock '40 pickup just posted on AACA website, has mag wheels and looks to be in primer. It's for sale and I have NOTHING to do with it, just sayin'.

  10. Weasel,
Looks like the factory had a few 37-38 dash panels left that they had to use up!
This vehicle looks like it was hardly used. (possibly a factory photo!!)

One of the best threads on the HAMB!

    Here's another Pickup:

Fred Adams and Paul Dow found it in a NY state barn and hauled it to Rochester.

Here's the "AFTER" pics. The pickup was raced mostly in the Northeastern US and Canada.

When its racing career was over in the late 1960s, a subsequent owner in the Buffalo, NY area made it into a street rod, painted red. Rumor has it the car then went to Texas, and who knows where it is today. When Adams and Dow sold it, it had twin air intakes cut into the hood and ductwork for ram air, and those scoops remained after the conversion to street. (Air intake barely visible in the Niagara Dragstrip photo)

Here's the same truck at the 66 March Meet. It's a very cool survivor. If I remember right, there's some footage of this truck making a few passes on the "It's A Gas 3" video. It pulls some wild wheel standing launches, and runs hard.

Wow,that pic had to be in the mid 60's yet that Willy's being only roughly 20 years old looks like a Barn Find from today.

A few old pics I found on the 'net. They were said to have been east coast cars.

I got a call from a guy in Indiana looking to sell a Willys parts car, this is what I found. It was a 1942 sedan turned into a roadster in the 50's. I sold it in e-bay around 2003.

Vic Young turned me onto this coupe, I went out to California to look it over and was sooo close to buying it. I am still kicking myself for not getting it. It was rust free all original body panels and a 60's hot rod with a 327 4 speed. It was sold after I passed on it and the new owner pro street the car, geeeez what a waste of great old Willys!

Dave, your right on the pro street thing "what a shame". Can you share the price that the car sold for? Looks to be a very nice car.
