Back 'round '64-'68 I used to live near Laguna Seca, there was a Ford Falcon roadracer, in class "A" Sedan, was great watching him mix it up with Mustangs, etc. His last name I think was 'Pike", as the car was referred to as "Pike's Falcon"....anyone have pics or info???

I feel the cut off date gets a little break when talking about race cars. if I'm wrong the mods will let us know.

  16. These pictures are sure on topic for me. Some of the most famous race cars ever built. Spectacular stuff.

yep OT but everybody has to appreciate racecars...This was the epitomy (spell check?) of racing in any form other than a straight line that is!!

There was a sedan class in transam for a while, Falcons Chevy II's, Valiants and Darts, and Gremlins / hornets.

I believe it was a under 5 liter class There was also Radial Sedan Class uner the IMSA sanction, running on Goodrich Trans Am Radials. 232 cu in was the largest engine allowed, there was supposedly a weight bias for the larger engines cars which supposidly equalized the 194, chevy the 200 ford the 225 Mopars and the 232 AMC's.
I believe there was an additional penalty for those running Pontiac OHC cars.

They ran combined races with Alfa Romeos, BMW, Opels, Datsuns, and other under 2 liter sedans. Probably some Pintos, and Vegas.

  21. This car screams "FUN!"
