james dean / ducktail run(s) next weekend, 9/23, 9/24 & 9/25. who's going? Merc Corral, swap meet, entertainment, close to 4,000 cars at each show. Each show is within 10 miles of each other. If you never have been, consider yourself welcome, if you have consider yourself welcome as well! I have attended for 24 straight years, and wont miss it. Love the merc's !!!! Hope to see ya there!
I will be at the Ducktail in my 55 sunliner,if I get there early enough might head over to Fairmount to see whats there.
whoops! i did forget to say where they are, been there so much i guess i took that for granted! They are in Fairmount and Gas City Indiana, right off of I-69 just north of Muncie Indiana. Hope to see ya fellow HAMB'rs all there!
Set up as always in my 4 bay circus tent.Come by and say hi. Plus buy one of the ducktail pinstripe shirts I designed, tell them how much you like it...Thanks
Both shows are worth going to, only a few miles apart and affordable enough to register for both. IF I had to choose only one it would be the Ducktail, especially if you're a swap meet junkie - the swap meet at the James Dean seems more like a little flea market imho.
I was at the rebel run on saturday. They didn't have as many mercs as they usually do but all together, there wasn't as many vehicles as last year. But on the plus side, the swap meet was bigger than i've seen it for the past 4 years or so.
Unless some unknown freak problem pops up, I will have the truck down there with a friend for Saturday.
I have been asked at last minute to make some camping reserving spots. Can you camp across the street. Who would I talk to?
I regret I cannot make it. Some shit came up at home that needs my attention...have fun for me! I will see some of yall at HCPU in a few weeks.
Spent the day at Ducktail today (Wednesday) and got my swap spot. There were already 300+ cars there, swap was maybe 40% full, vendors 30% full. Drove down to the Dean Run @ 5 this afternoon. Zero, Zip, nada, no cars yet period. ! food vendor, no swap and no other vendors. I will say they did have great signage and roped off areas all over the grounds, much better than ever before.
I got to Ducktail @ 10:30am Fri and got # 2000 at the gate. By 3pm no where to park - wow it was great!
I would have liked to have stayed longer at the Ducktail but the starter was acting up so I left early enough so if I had to do some repairs on the road it would not be dark,I found more parts at the swapmeet there then I did at the others I attended all year plus I sold a trans to someone there that payed for the parts I bought.
