I honestly like it. It seemed like her husband put alot into it....enough to have her with it and it still being out there to be scene. There was a time i suppose before my time of coure (me being 25) that people who built cars built them for themselves. Hence him expressing alot of his personality in the car. To some it might be a little overbearing yet to him it was a part of him. I like how it is still "wondering around" even tho he isnt!! plus i like the signal switch the same one im putting into my falcon hehe!!

i think the car represents the time and area in which is was built, and was a continually evolving piece until the owner's death. there are things about it which look out of place to us today, or incongruous with the overall theme AS WE SEE it, but we're all being subjective based on our likes and dislikes. that said; i LIKE the car, taking the quirky with the cool alike.

You wish you had a chopped Merc to roll in. I know i do. For some - in it's present state the Merc is a little over the top, and may not be their particular style, But I think it's cool that Herman and Dian enjoy the hobby of Hotrods and Customs. They have taken the time,$$, and effort to preserve a Merc the way it once was.

This past Friday Herman&Dian hosted a big party. Probably around 75 in attendance. (Herman is Alive and well) Great friends, food, cool cars! It was an honor to be invited.

You're correct I do wish I had one! I'd love to have this particular ride, no doubt. I wanted to make it to their show in Ardmore this past weekend but was unable to (I coach my daughter's soccer team and we had our first game) but hope to make it next year if it's an annual event.

I have edited the first post to reflect that I made an error about Herman's status in my original post to hopefully keep that erroneous statement from spreading...Thanks for your comments! :D

  9. Honestly, why do you ask? There is a lot of hard work in that car. Especially in the chop, grille, and skirts. It is in no way something that appeals to my particular taste. But everyone knows I am nuts. However my taste has no bearing on whether or not someone put a lot of work and money into a car and made something that they enjoy. Thats my $.02

Fashions change, but style remains the same. That car has plenty of style and the fashion faux pas (by todays standard) could be easily altered.
