Thanks 1959apache. That light interior is also starting to grow on me too. With the small windows in my car, I don't want a too dark interior. Something like this may just be the solution.

Rob, I'm dissappointed as well. For those that don't know, I had plans to go to the Lone Star Spring Nats in the middle of March next year, but unfortunately my company could not give me time off in that period. There were able to give a week at the end of March, so now we're (Bart and I) going to the Del Mar Nats. Sorry Rob! We'll try to hook up with you in Texas in 2013!

No problems Rob! Here are the first pics (while taking a quick break) of the Hemi operation. More to come soon......if all my measurements have been correct and she fits like she's supposed to.

Well the Hemi is in place! My brother in law Han helped me this afternoon in order to accomplish the task ahead. There was not enough room between the tunnel and the gearbox lever, so we had to unbolt the body in four places and jack it up a few inches. Also enlarged the hole in the tunnel slightly to give the lever a little extra room. The oil sump just cleared the cross member after angling the engine slightly more. After getting the gearbox in place, we bolted down the engine mounts.

The intake clears the firewall and everything has worked out great! I'm glad I spent those countless hours measuring and measuring. More pics soon. What a great day!:D:D:D

Here are a few more pics. Also glad that the steering column looks like it will clear everything as well.

Congratulations Eric, that is a special momnet for sure. I can see what you mean about the shock towers on my chassis...tight fit. I don't see the distributer in the photo? The steering looks good, and close also. Nice job!

Thanks powhatan42! The distributor is there and clears the firewall by an inch and a half. Steering is close, but will make it work with an extra coupling. It's all a tight fit, but the hours of thinking/measuring have finally paid off.

Mounted the driver side header to ensure it will clear the chassis. All ok. From here I need to figure out how I'm going to get the steering linkage to work while clearing chassis/engine/headers. I think with some imagination I can work it out. (that won't be until the weekend unfortunately, as work duties call.)

Thanks drjones96. To answer your question: yes. I'm probably going for a dark grey or black. Haven't decided which one yet.
