I thought you had a 33 or 34 roadster project?

i'm one of the greenwood knights that put on the greenwood show. all i can say is don't do it on a city street or it's gonna cost you big. sandpoint would be my preference. food vendors should pay you to attend and they need to be self contained, so you don't have to provide power and washing facilities. anything to help with costs. plenty of bands will play for free. would the fire marshall get involved at sandpoint, or the city? good luck with this and if the greenwood knights can help, feel free to ask.

I thought sandpoint was closed!! due to the city not having funding anymore to update the safety of the hangar!! someone said it had chunks of rafters coming down?? at one point during there yearly book fare??

Yes it is. But remember the payoffs will be huge. "If you build it, they will come"

You're right Chris....I'm just not thrilled with all the paper work, that's all. I'm still plugging away at it, But it's frustrating as it takes time away from the coupe build.

That would not be in SEATTLE.

  18. That's the truth!

If you haven't already, I'd start talking to KIRK! and Jive Bomber about what it actually takes to put on a tradition hot rod show. Between the two of them they have more then two decades of experience putting on successful traditional hot rod shows in a major metropolitan area. KIRK! spent a decade building Billetproof from the ground up, while Jay Ward(Jive Bomber) was a founding member of the Billetproof show with KIRK!, then branched off on his own creating the Asphalt Invitational event.

But be warned it's not as glamours as it seems. I remember being Antioch, with some Emperors back in 05', sitting around the Ramada Inn pool with KIRK! on Saturday night after Billetproof was over. When he mentioned to all of us, that Saturday night was his favorite night of the entire year because it meant he had 365 days until the next Billetproof, and he didn't have to worry or stress about putting on the show for one night.

This is a great idea, I would definitely go and so would the guys from my bike club. Especially if there was a few decent local bands...

Here's another location idea for you...You could see about doing it the same place they do Backfire Moto, in Ballard on Leary by the Bit and and Station. In the summer time they get probably 1000 bikes up in there, theres three different bars right there, at least one does food, and theres a lot of room for parking on the streets nearby. The whole area has a great vibe, Backfire has done really well, kind of a similar deal with motorcycles. Backfire is tonite if you wanted to check out the location while the event is happening....Lots of cool bikes to look at too.

So I just found out that the Hanger is essentially not available.... Basically the city "allows" only 4 events per year with over 50 people in attendance at a time.....and you have to win a lottery for it in March....but they liked my idea and the lady gave me some insider tips concerning policy changes in the next couple months. So it's not off the list....just unlikely.

Keep after it Matt. This is a great idea. If you were to have it in Georgetown, where would you likely have it? I dig that old town feel down there.

there is a parking lot across the street from Jules Maes It has the remains of a old brick factory on the property. I think it was a brewery. Not sure how to get ahold of the owner, But that is my first choice to explore as a possiblilty. If you google map it you can see the structure it has a old smoke stack on it and is by the train tracks.
