The Jackson Bros. Gasser CD has shots of the truck when Nunes and Dillon ran it. Nothing like seeing a gasser with more HP than what the chassis can handle launch off the line. A testiment to Nune's driving skill.

  3. Awesome info, EF, thanks for the background on Rex and his way cool photos.

Here's a pit shot of Sonny Schenfield's altered...get that car out of the attic and out on a strip!

Looks like this is the turnaround at the starting line for the push-started diggers. See the right side of this shot:

  5. Found these unidentified and (maybe) uncredited shots in a folder called "Kansas City International Raceway - 1959 courtesy Bob Hayes". I don't know if Bob Hayes took these or just was the source of the photos. Also, KCIR didn't come into existence until the mid '60s, and the background isn't right for the Noland Road location, so I think this is actually the old river front location that's now warehouses and trucking companies.

What year did the river front location for KC Raceway shut down ?

Addendum: These Bill Truby shots from Pittsburgh are priceless.

The old track closed in early '67. KCIR opened in late '67.

Law was the MAN in the day. His A/Comp dragster was a killer. I see Jim Minnick of Nitro West VA built his motors.

  21. 1. Welcome to the HAMB. Your first post should be your introduction (in the Introduction thread!).

    2. What B Stock 57 Chevy? You should either quote the post you're referring to or include the post number so everyone knows what you're talking about.

  22. More PID....

Love the '36 ('35?) coupe with the huge engine setback. Any more pictures/information of that?
