Try working in Trauma/Pre-Hospital Care/Rescue for a while, sometimes it only takes a smell to put you back in a place you don't want to be. I picked up what was left of a guy I knew that flew his A-4 Skyhawk into the ground and now its hard to go to a butchers or a deli.

    from somewhere

the women in a lot of these photos are just beautiful. I mean, really, these are very pretty ladies compared to the type of women we idolize today. Back then these women had class and the image of beauty was a very innocent one and today...theyre alla bunch of under-fed skanks :)

With her friend, Clark, ca. 1940. In the early '30s, Loy was named by public
acclamation as screen QUEEN to Gable's established status as KING. In
1938, none other than Ed Sullivan:p, then a New York Daily News columnist,
declared the two King and Queen of Hollywood, as determined<WBR> by readers.
    Pic THANKS to IMBD!

Box-office draws Gable, Loy and Lombard never co-starred in a movie together, though
one of Loy's biggest breaks in screen time came opposite Clark in '34, and Gable and
Lombard had co-starred several times. Here in a news photo, the three friends drop in
at the L.A. Tennis Club in 1937. Gable and Lombard would soon be married. Peek at
this rarely seen photo is THANKS to the site, Carole & Co.

With William Powell in "The Thin Man." As Nick
and Nora Charles, they were America's sharp-witted,
quintessential couple of the '30s. Photo by Ted
    Allan, 1934, thanks to IMBD.

"Spiritual," the statue modeled after Venice High
student Myrna Loy, 16, as it stood for many decades,
before finally being destroyed by excessively malicious
students. The "after" pic below shows the restyled re-
placement, JUST as the original was on the cusp of
delicate Art Nouveau metamorphosing into Art Deco.
I doubt that masters such as Saint-Gaudens, Weinman,
Frazer or Huntington could not have done it better than
did Winebrenner. This photo is THANKS to HAMBer
OLLIN who originally posted on the great thread, "The
    History of Los Angeles."

Said Venice High alum Beau Bridges, at the rededication
of Myrna's redone statue, our future lies in our history.

For more detail, here's a great link:

The Oarsman - Venice High School - Myrna is Back in 2009

Jun 16, 2011 ... In 1921, at the age of 16, Loy posed for Harry Winebrenner's

statue titled “ Spiritual,” which remained in front of the main building of the school ...
