I don't know what the rest of you boys and girls did this weekend but I have sure had a good time.
Things got started Thursday night. Favorite brother in law Lawrence and I both had to work late at our real jobs and finally got on the road about 8:30 pm. Destination....Jefferson, WI fall swap meet. We drove all night for 12 hours and about 730 miles or so. We took turns driving and made it to Top Notch Vehicles at the south edge of Jefferson where our friend Bobwop was waiting for us with cars to drive into the car corral to sell. I got to drive a white 76 Cadillac ElDorado convertible with 40,000 actual miles and Lawrence got to drive a beautiful red 62 Thunderbird with new WWW tires and new Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. This was our chance to get into the meet early as the gates don't open to public until 10 am on Friday which allows vendors time to get set up. Thank you Bob for the free admission. By the way, he sold both of these vehicles at the car corral to happy new owners---:)
The weather was very cool but nice and we started looking around the huge fairgrounds with over 3100 swap meet spaces.

Local vendor Templin's Auto Parts had a couple of jalopies for sale along with all the new parts you could want for your Model A or T.

At this point I would like to pause and make a comment before someone beats me to it.
This swap meet (especially the fall meet) is about 2/3rds or 3/4ths late model junk. Lots of plastic parts too. Then add alot of snowmobile parts and non auto related stuff. Sadly the fact is---this has become the norm. But let's face it---time marches on and waits for no man. It is the natural progression of time. It's the way it is----
NOW---let's get past that fact of life and focus on old car parts and new and old friends-----

Kelly and his wife Jeanne always have alot of new flathead dress up parts and hot rod related stuff for sale. Kelly always accuses me of taking bad photos of him and says I make his hair look bad. In my opinion there seems to be alot of hot air surrounding him that blows thru his hair. ha ha---

Yes but not NEW high performance stuff like you are used to. These are more like old junker snowmobiles and parts perhaps for ice fishing or something. I don't know....

I looked at that Graham pretty well, I thought it was actually a pretty decent deal all things considered.

and there is something about working all day, driving all night, and walking a huge swap meet that makes a man just a little bit tired-----as demonstrated here by Lawrence---

I was happy to see my pal Touchdown Todd from Milwaukee and his beautiful wife Evelyn who were resting in the gr*** next to us. I had a good long visit with them. Where could you find a better smile than hers? Todd has a new Cadillac cruiser but did not find any parts for it here.

Then I went walking again and headed for the indoor spot where my pal John ---coolstuff-- from Iowa was vending. Oddly John was really impressed with the local phone book and posed for this photo with it---:D
