LA Mopar valve covers on my mill. I'll try to grab pics. I hate to cut them but i need to add breathers/pcv or maybe a crankcase-header evacuation kit.

  5. I have a set of the 7 fin sbc straight hole v/c s, a set of ford fe finned v/c s, a few short (horse hair filters) louvered air cleaners, a hilton air cleaner in the box and a few badger air cleaners in the boxes.

Here's a Cal Custom Oil Cap I found recently. Figured I'd post it up here to share. Chrome Oil Cap #PBC 200 fits a bunch of GM & Fords up to 66.

I think it's Ed Cholakian, and he's still around. Out in Las Vegas now, and charging top dollar for sombreros. (Don't ask me how I know!)

I have one of these in a box printed "stock number 40-45B" but the scoop is marked 40-44. Is that right, or do I have the wrong box?

I think it has to do with what base was on it, looks like it was for the 2-5/8 2bbl base, i have one of those adaptor bases that would be on the bottom or your scoop.

JC Whitney used to sell Cal Custom valve covers in the 70s. I remember the catalog add never said they were Cal Custom parts, just that they were finned valve covers. I bought a set for a FE Ford around 1975 or so. I don't remember what I paid. I'm thinking somewhere around $20. I still have them on the 390 in my 53 F-100.

If I remember correctly, along with the part number inside is an address of Gardenia, California.

the box its sitting on is blue!

  28. Thanks a lot Mick.

Noticed the steel Full Moon Discs on page 34. Were these to compete with Dean Moon's discs or did they per-date the spun aluminum ones?

I'd sure go broke matching the prices for the plaques they were making back then. Looks like they were using Koehler oundry in Bell, CA.

So I didn't see any of the Cal Custom air cleaners - when did they come out?

  30. Just trying my luck here, anyone got a or know of anyone having a Cal-Custom bullet delete grille for a 1950 Ford for sale? Let me know lobo377@hotmail.com
I have seen that there exists a lot of different models depending on what year you have on the car. I have gotten a hold of a few for the 1949 Ford but no luck on the 50.

Also what year did this type of custom grille appear in the Cal-Custom inventory, 50's-60's?
