I bought a pair of these today at a swap meet. Aluminum frame with rivets and plexigl***. They are narrow. I don't know much about old airplanes. I'm thinking they would look good on a small roadster. Anyone know what kind of plane they are from?
Thre ya go f.p i mean p.f. ggoglemsearch biplane ****pit photos showed many like it few had the wider framing .. may be your two are from a carnival ride? maybe those were removed after the pretty wing walker caught her knickers and slipped just that frst time .................................................. .. hope you turned your hat around soon after the pic.. shhhhhhese
Just found this thread. I'm pretty sure I know what they are off of. Guess you'll have to sell em to me before I'll tell ya!!!!
Looks like a Fairchild PT-19 or so to me. There were a lot of them around this part of the country. Cool you ran across those Paul. Lippy
Looking at Bruce McCall's "Forgotten War Birds" book, it's quite clearly either a British Humbley-Pudge Gallipoli Heavyish Bomber or the Japanese Kakaka “Shirley” Amphibious Pedal-Bomber.....
You are probably spot on there, this is the best pic I could find. It's supprisingly hard to find good close up pics of the PT-19!! Doc.
