Sure do! The fact that my '37 is nearly 75 years old and fairly original absolutely amazes me. Obviously it had some great caretakers along the way,no doubt each and every one of them would have some interesting stories about the car. The same goes for other old cars that passed through my hands. I bet there were interesting stories to go along with their numerous battle scars.

I tried to trace the chain of ownership of my '69 GTX, the trail stopped cold at the third owner. I would love to shake the hand of the original owner, he had great taste in cars...

All I know about my '60 is that it was born in Norwood, OH probably spent much of it's time in Indiana and now is back in Cincinnati about 10 miles from the plant.

I don't know the history of my Dad's '40, but I always wonder what roll it played in WWII. Did it take someone to a factory to support the war effort, did it wait behind while it's owner was fighting (hopefully he came back), or was it just lucky that it was a fairly new car and didn't get caught in a scrap drive.

I bought my '36 Plymouth from the man who was there the day it emerged from it's 50 year hibernation in a D.C. garage. It still had a box of magazines in the trunk from the summer of 1956 (it was locked away in Sept. '56), and I tracked down one of the ladies whose name appeared on an address label. She was the sister of the second owner, her brother. She told me about her single lady aunt, Blanche McNally, who was the original owner, and she arranged to have her brother (now well into his eighties) call me. He did a few months later and we spoke for about a half hour. He gave me Blanche's address in Florida, but said that Blanche was over 100 years old, and in poor health, so I declined to try and contact her.

My dad bought my 55 sunliner new and was the only new car he bought, brought me and my two sisters home from the hospital when born and would have been traded in on a wagon in 67 but they only wanted to give him 50 dollars so he told them to stick it where the sun did not shine and shoved it in the garage. My 37 chevy p/u was originally owned by a company about 15 miles south of me who ran the piss out of it them my great uncle bought it and beat the crap out of it,still trying to find info on the company who bought it new but found out it was made in the Norwood Ohio plant and probably the only truck from that company still around.

Mine came with the original title issued to the first owner in Bloomington, IN, in 1941. He kept the car until his death in the early 70's, and his widow sold it to a man in Westfield, IN, who had it restored in the late 90's. He sold it to a man in Kerrville, TX, from whom I bought it in 2004.

My project 38 was bought new by a doctor in Ogdensburg NY for his wife Bess. My great uncle bought and drive it for a bit and the my Dad's cousin got it. It sat in a barn through most of the 60's. My Dad bought her in the 70's with the intention of rodding it. He lost intrest and she sat in a field until I got her last year.

Her name is Bess and I have plans on keepin her in the family.

I am the third owner of the '57 Pontiac in my avatar.
The first owner was Guy Fry(real name) he purchased the '57 in Sept. of 1957 at Ruckle Pontiac in Yonkers, NY . I was told he was an insurance man.
The second owner had the car for about 4 years, his name is Bob Kosarko.
I was told by a friend he would "never" sell the car.
I bought the '57 in 1984 and did a cosmetic restification as it only had 29,000 miles on it at the time.
I have owned it the longest and have put over 40,000 miles on it!
And I WILL NEVER SELL IT!

I still have the first car I ever purchased. I bought a brand new Formula Firebird in 1972.
It curently has about 52,000 miles on it, and I will never sell it.
Way too many fond memories associated with our life and that Firebird!

I am the third guy on the title of the '40 but there was "someone" else in there for awhile---when we walnut shell blasted the body it went from black to a wierd metallic green to the original black. The car was bought and driven around College Station, TX---everything is blank after that. I think an early rodder drove it for awhile -- maybe a relative of the original owner.

Original owner of my 40 was Ira P. Relyea who had the accident which totaled the car as pictured. Second was Robert Rose who bought it after the accident. Third is me. All from Poughkeepsie, NY.

I have a 1933 ford that I found in a shed in 1955. the man that owned it wouldnt sell it but gave it to me in 1976. I had to promise him I wouldnt make a hot rod out of it as long as he was living. He told me he got it off of a capt. of the highway patrol who had bought it for his son. the son got cought speeding and he sold it to a junk dealer in 1947. It sat in a shed until I got it . After 30 years of searching I found out it was bought new by a neighbor that lived about 200 yards from my place. He had died but his wife was still living and told me about the day he brought it home. She was mad because he bought it without telling her about it. She looked it over and said it didnt set as low as it did now and didnt shine like that either. She passed on about three months ago but never saw me that she didnt ask about the car. Her son and I were best friends all through school and now he took over asking about the car. I have a 1951 ford that had the registration in the glove box. I checked it out and found out he had passed on and the car was bought by an antique dealer and cant come up with anything on it. I just bought a 54 buick from a woman who said her dad bought it new . she drove it for a while, thought it needed painted so she painted it with a brush, two toned it black and white.

I met the son of the original owner of my 58 the other day. Pretty cool chattin with him. The way he knew it was his parents car was from an old compass mounted next to the rear view mirror that his mom insisted on. Then he mentioned which car lot it was bought from (putnam ford) which i still have the dealer decal from. Heard some neat stories!

HD brakes, severe duty springs and shocks, seatbelts, hurst shifter
traction masters with Ford stamped on them
firestone highspeed tires specified on the reciept
(Maby a shine runner)was hit by a shotgun in
the roof and rear side window on drivers side just rear of the driver

  23. I also have a '58 like this. Gold metallic and cream - paint code: SPEC.
From what I have heard this color combo was in honor of GM's 50th Golden Jubilee and that there was only one of these trucks shipped to each dealer. Whether that's true or not I don't know.

Mine has is 6cyl/3 speed but other that it has all the deluxe options, big back window, stainless and chrome, radio, etc.

My 58 was purchased new by Frank Kunzweiler, who lived across the street from us when I was a kid. Sometime early in it's life it pulled a float in the Tournament of Roses parade. My dad purchased the truck from Frank in 1965. When my Dad passed in 1977, I inherited it.

  24. No offense but that is just weird.

I would not post anyone's name and address on the Internet even if you think that they may have passed on or died. That is very bad etiquette.

My '63 Newport was bought new up the road in Bardstown, KY. With only 52,000 on the odometer I don't think it ever ventured far from home. No idea who the original owner was.

But I recently picked up a '54 Savoy Club Coupe from the family of the original owner. Both his sons drove it while they were in high school. Bought new in Harrodsburg, KY. Title still in the original owner's name.

I bought my 27 Chevy coupe from the son of the original owner, but unfortunetly I lost all of the information. My dad found the car and I sold my T coupe that I had bought from Archie McCrimmon for $10.00. I mad a huge 300% profit on the sale at $40.00, but I was still short $10.00 for the Chevy. My dad lent me the ten bucks and we went and got the Chevy. It had always been garaged until the old man died and his son put it outside where the fabric roof and it's wood frame promptly collapsed. That was 1964 and I was 16, redid the top as best I could and drove the car regularly for the next 3 years. It is still in my garage under piles of junk and I have become that old bastard that we all hated for saying "I am going to do something with that car someday". The fact is I am never going to do something with it and I should sell it to someone who will.

I tried to research some history on my 64 Wildcat, but came up empty. I do know that it came out of the Southgate, California plant and spent most of its life on the West Coast.
It has spent time in Battle Ground, Washington and Woodland Washington. I had a few of the old owners names, but came up empty on a name search.
I brought it as a parts car in Woodenville, WA. It lived with me in Tacoma, WA. It now resides in Texas!

    A. What's so wierd about wondering what someone looked like? It's called curiosity!

    B. You made your speech about ettiquette back in June. I didn't want to fight with you... again, so I never posted.

    C. The reason I wanted to post it (but never did), was in case someone here might have known or been related to the dude.

    D. Why do you fight so much.... I thought we were pals... remember!
