Do any of you collect Old Gas Station Items??

I do. I have a '48 Bowser Pump, (under restoration now) a lubester from the 40's, )Just finished it) a gear oil lubester, (Just picked it up) A Repo Visible pump, signs and a bunch of liitle things.

I was just curious if anyone else did.

I've got some old signs, some new, a few 5 gallon cans, and a few cardboard oil cans. I really want to collect gulf stuff when I get a car.

But at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and Museum where I work, we've got tons of that kind of stuff!!

I used to collect all kinds of that stuff years ago when you could pick up gas pumps for 10.00 and old oil cans and signs real cheap. But I sold off my collections when I thought the prices were silly. I never thought a 50s gas pump would sell for a grand. I guess I sold to early. I still made real good money then and did keep a few smalls for my self.

When I built my shop I used "old school" glass doors to look like a old service station.

Anybody have an old glass jar battery acid dispenser? I bought one the other day at an auction but cant find any identifying markings on it. The glass jar at one time had some sort of a paper lable and all thats left is a capital letter "A". Thought it might be for Atlas.

I sold off my extensive Mobil / Socony-Vacuum collection a couple of months ago to finance my '36 3-window project. It took me 30+ years to acquire all the items and I miss seeing the stuff every time I walk into my shop, but I really want the coupe - I guess you can't have it all........................:(

While in high school in the mid 60's the Chevron station I worked at had a major face lift done...new pumps, signs, lighting and works. All of the old stuff was picked up and shredded for scrap. My boss offered some of the better items to me for cheap and as a stupid kid I couldn't see the value in it (thought it was junk). Awwwwwwww to have that opportunity again. Keep the great shops coming. Thanks!

The Standard letters were removed from one of my dads service stations before it was turned into Chevron.

If its the one that has a gallon jug upside down with a hose coming out of the bottom, than I have one. It didn't have any labels on it, when I got it.

I have two completed Tokheim 39 shorts, 1 is done Texaco, the other (which I just finished) is done Dino. I have a Gasboy which I just finished, have a Tokeheim 300 which I'm going to flat black, flame and pinstripe for old school and I have a Gilbarco that I haven't decided what to do with. Also have oil and gas cans, some old boxes, signs and misc. It's a small collection, but how much do you really need. Oh, yeh, I also finished 2 lubsters in primer. I'm not smart enough to send pics. If I ever learn, I'll send out a few.

Yep that sounds like mine. Is your framework painted red and does it have the battery tester holder on the side?

Discovered this old gas pump sitting back in the middle of a woods in NW Ohio. No roads or trails leading to it. I think it has to have a meaning...but what? Kind of like the black monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
