^^^^ I attended high school auto shop with Paula's son (Dan) in the '60's. Paula is still alive and kickin' in Southern California, now in her eighties....

These 70's era floppers would garner much attendtion on the Classic Funnycar Board. Hell, some of the guys posting there either drove and/ or owned the very cars from the 70's that have posted here.

  4. I think a thread on Paula should be started...she done a lot!!!

Paula Murphy is alive an well. I had the priviledge of hanging out with her at the Gas Up in Beullton, CA this spring. I even convinced her to sign the underside of my hood for good luck. She was a cheerful and gracious as I remember her from the sixties and seventies. As a So Cal drag racer I saw her run many times. She was a lot more fun to hang out with then the other lady drag racer.

The kit was re-issued not too long ago-- and the arm is included.

Looking for some help finding Parts.

Just Bought the 1967 Mercury Flip Top Comet Driven by John Petrie out of Canada. Starting the restoration of it this winter. I want to make it as correct as possible. So I'm putting the word out looking for some of the hard to find parts.

A set of proper Magnesium wheels and tires

    - 15 x 4.5 (12 spoke)American racing Anglia spindle mount

    - Halibrand 16 x 10 Sprint Big window 3.5 backspace Ford 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern

    - Vintage M H Slicks 11x 16 or 12 x 16

The Petrie car ran two seasons 67 -68, three different Paint schemes, The third style which is the way I have it ran a Blown Cammer out of a 68 FED.
_ Hoping to find a Complete Engine set up in this fashion correct for 68.

Well thats the hardest stuff for now. But its a start, now all I need to do is win the lotto.

Personal Message me if you can help thanks Ken

Heres the car back in the day. 1st Version

Ken, you are a lucky guy. Great find and in good shape. Don't know where it may have been stored but, go over the chassis with a fine tooth comb. Should not be a problem if you don't plan to put your foot in it. Good luck. Many envy you. Mike

  24. Try Robert Pond also for the FE and Cammer stuff @ Robert Pond Motorsports (909)376-2530. He got tired of waiting
for "Cammer guys" to make and/or ship parts, so he's started making his own.

  25. Jim Green's Performance Center,Monroe,Wa..Jim has had a lot of Ford SOHC parts over the years. If you are looking for crammer parts.

  26. Hey Ken I heard Kurt Neighbor has some Cammer parts. You could give him a call....

  27. That body-up b/w shot of the BP Experimental at Lebanon Valley was taken by my dad in the fall of 1968 ! My first time at that track. DD

I think that was Johns last race, I believe he sold the car after that. Any other pics of it, those two are the only ones I have been able to find with the last paint job.

Thanks for the input everyone, Its going to be a challange.

Another Cammer guy is Jim Bariliro... he owns both Chrisman Comets 65 and the 67 flip top. He is located in Tenn.
