    Cool find last weekend.
Found it sitting in an old fellas living room under many years of disgarded papers and odds and ends.

Marked 1952 this is a "Real McCoy" Midget Racer Tether Car, with a "Boxer" .19 engine. Needs to be polished back up, but complete and in nice condition.

UPDATE: This is a "Fugi" not a "Real McCoy"

Very cool old Midget Racer! Looks like it will 'clean up' beautifully. I'm a ****er for old buss toys, although I do have a pretty neat old WWI Tank made in the twenty's. Great find!

When I was about seven or eight years old I had one. No motor. For me it was just a toy car. One day and older boy talked me into playing a game with him. He'd get on one side of the street and push the car across to me and then I would push it back to him. So he went first and pushed the car across to me. When it was my turn I got it about half way across..........then a bus ran it over. End of story.

Hard to tell without looking at the grille, but this car looks like a "Fugi" brand. Pretty scarce compared to the "McCoy". Great find !!!

Tell me more, I had another person say it is. While I.D.ing it the main thing that through me was the angle of the motor. The mccoy's mostly mount straight up and down, this one angles forward.

You need to post the pictures on the Teather Car thread.

Wow, the far reach of the HAMB!!!!

I was just contacted by a collector out of our 50th state. He informed me that it is a "Fugi" and is alot more rare then a McCoy. Then attempted to buy it. I informed him it wasn't for sale so he told me what the car is really worth. Wow!

The Fugi has a small vertical oval shaped grill opening and the McCoy has a more detailed grille with the vertical bars cast into it. Tires are also a dead giveaway that it is a Fugi. Again, this is a pretty rare car compared to the Real McCoy.

RAD! I remember way back going with my dad to Whittier Narrows to see the RC planes and watch the Thimble Dromes scream around the concrete circle. What a blast to see when you are 6 or 60.

Brings back good memories, thanks for posting.:)

That's the problem with bias tires, they sit to long and get a flat spot.:D

Well, don't really want to get into that.
What I will say is when I picked it up I thought $400-$500. Let's just say almost double that.
