It's this Saturday, can hardly wait!!! :D Heard there will be a fund raising event for a drag strip in Lompoc (1/8th mile) at an abandoned Ford dealership on Friday evening which we'll probably cruise over to. Skinny has it that the media (TV) may be there to give some coverage. More on this as soon as I find out more.

  4. Weather report looks great. Counting the hours. My brother bought this one from Gil Muro and then had he and his crew paint it. They are assembling as we speak and were gonna pick it up at the Round Up. Future plans call for a pump gas 555 and 5 speed, so it'll be a 555555! IMG952011100495141329.jpg

Only three days to go! Attached is the info for Friday evening's benefit BBQ for the drag strip they're building in Lompoc, replacing the "Meet & Greet" initially planned. This will be at the abandoned Beattie Motors Ford dealership which should make for a cool setting from 5 to 8 p.m. Maybe we can cruise over to a Dairy Queen or something after for dessert? Please open the attachment for further info on this benefit BBQ, should be a blast! If you have a trailered vehicle and want to unload it to drive over, Gil says you may do so at the shop which is located on 1641 W. Central Ave. in Lompoc. He can be reached at (805)757-1765. See you there! Vic

Ric - the 55 looking great!

  7. Vic, what time are you planning on getting there tomorrow, we're shooting for 10:30-11:30 am so we can help finish up the '55. Also maybe we can hop in the '56 and my brother in laws '67 Fairlan wagon and go to lunch. 9258_064_Chris_Whitney_Stock.jpg

  8. PS. check the REAL not fake license plate. He found these at a window tinting shop who's owner likes to collect plates and hang them on the walls and he GAVE them to Chris for free!

What a surprise to see my old car painted, looks good.

Here is a picture of it when it was primered and videos when it was at hotrod eruption in Washington state.

Starts at the 7 minute mark, at that time i was running a 582 big block chevy with a jerico 4speed. that car was fun to drive, i got that car from Texas, neat history with that, an old racer from lil river dragstrip that sat a long time, have fun with it.

Bought the car from Gil a few months ago with a paint job included in the package. Ended up going a lot further than originally planned with the paint job/trim, etc. but the car looks unbelievable!!! :D The Muro bros. & crew do amazing work!!! Gil gave me the cd and other paperwork he had for the car, but if you have ANY additional info/paperwork/stories, would love to have/hear it! Thanks for all the work you did on the car, loved looking at the in progress pics on the cd! Will post more pics soon with all the trim, etc.

More pix. The Cacklefest was another big hit, especially when the blown & injected Hemi in the Costa & Stewart Willys fired up.

The folks in Lompoc are trying to open a Motorsports Park near the airport. They're raising funds to help move the project along so help if you can. Spoke with the mayor of Lompoc on Friday evening and not only is he behind the project, but excited about it as well. :D

This is it! If you missed this year, catch the one next year - maybe the track will be near completion then...???
