    I have searched my files, and so far I have not come up with anything on this car. The Packard grille is very distinctive for this car.
    Not so much the grille it self. That has been used quite a lot from the 1940's and up by all the major and not so major Custom Car builders. But the one piece grille surround is very unique. All the photos I could find of '36 Ford using this Packard grille had a regular but modified hood going all the way to the front of the grille.
    On this car the front section of the hood was cut off and welded to the custom made front portion of the hood sides, which was welded to the front piece of the front fenders. This creating a short hood top... something I have not been able to find yet!

    And I agree with the others. The Packard grille should go back on the car.

    My opinion is that the car should be restored with its Packard grill. It's a gorgeous example of an early custom, and those wheelcovers are out-of-this-world! They should be in a vault somewhere (not really).

  13. Scott said he got them from another long time local in the car scene. They had been hanging in his shop for some time. The caps are Stainless Steel, custom spun all the way to the edge of the rim. The center caps are hand made and screw on to the hubs, they are threaded to go into the dust cap threads. The caps are actually held on by the center spinners/dust caps. The level of craftsmanship it took to make these is incredible, to spin the stainless alone would be a feat. Could they be a Duvall made item? There's no documentation at this point, and again it was a hell of a craftsman that built them!

    Now this is how this car should be! It will be a full custom again if the Packard grille is put back on. By the way, what a bitchin' car and killer find!

    There are more pics here on this earlier thread;

    The tail light rings may be Pontiac but the buckets/stands are definitely 35/36',. Pretty cool car nonetheless
