  3. In answer to your PM I do not recognize any of those names and I think the brothers Morgan actually owned 7 midgets at one time but only two were Kurtis cars powered by Offy engines. Ford v8 60's powered the others. You might contact Kevin Olson at: bullringko@aol.com as he knows Lew's son Jerry and has visited with him several times on the midget racing in the 1940's as well as owning the Armscamp Speedway. Good luck and please let me know if you get the information you are seeking. If not, I have another source that might be of assistance.

  4. Mr error it is Kevin Oldham not Kevin Olson but the email address is correct.

Anyone have any information about the Amos Waddell Offy? It may have been owned by Charlie Peck at one time.
Bill Cheesbourg is the driver in this photo taken at Trenton in 1957

Monkaz, I wonder why he has a dirt tire on right rear?

You can see Pete Schmidt's dirt champ car in background too.

Jim Cheesbourg ran the car in a 10 lap exhibition race, prior to the 100 mile Champ car race, won by Pat O'Connor. Sam Nunis, was trying to gin up interest in the upcoming 100 mile midget race. I guess Waddell figured the dirt tire would survive - it did.
I believe the car was from West Virginia?

Sweet pics Lee! Do you have any close-ups of the hood? I want to build a 1:25 version and need hi-res shots for decals.

Does anybody know the present owner of the famous cream and red, Charlie Nagy K.K. Offy?
The picture on the left shows "Jiggs" Peters at Allentown in July of 1957 - anybody that was there that day will remember the dust and the heat. The picture on the right shows "Jiggs" Peters at Wms. Grove.

What year was this taken of Ernie. He bought this car from my Dad Danny Frye Sr in 1972 or 3 in Daytona Fla. We had just bought the car from Louie Snooks in Huston to take to Daytona and run Memorial Stadium. I ran second in the main and Ernie and I think Dutch Schaffer came over and bought the car. Well now I'm out of a ride. That is a nice car.

monkaz, I believe this is Sept 1958 as the Bowes dirt car in the background was new in 58, burned to ground at Langhorne and was rebuilt. for the dirt miles of August. Car was #9 in 58 and 4 in 59. A Lesovsky frame

    Jim,
You are probably right, my print was inscribed,1957. 1957 was the year that the State Police in New Jersey came up with that idiotic roll bar.
I was at Langhorne and witnessed the Johnny Boyd incident. The fire dept. sprayed water on the burning mag wheels, with predictable results!!!

Monkaz, yes NJ state police ran things and the rules, just like Connecticut! The 1957 roll bars were really hokey.

Was at Langhorne for the boyd fire too. about a 2 hour delay to refill the fire truck as I recollect. Must have been using a garden hose.

Does anyone recognize this car? The driver looks like Vern Harriman and the date is probably 1954.
