    Wynns #1,

Here a couple of pictures, reputed to be the Paul Baines Offy. I am not totally convinced that the photo on the right is the Baines Offy, although it is identified as such. I know the posed photo, taken at Islip, is the Paul Baines car.

this is the Jim Barkley Offy, would be painted red in later years driven mostly by Red Reigle.

I Believe the driver in this picture last name is Graham.

    Jim,
It is Roy Graham. I believe he came from the Buffalo NY area. Any idea where the car came from?

    Monkaz,
Jim Barkley was a long time driver before becoming a car owner. I suspect he quit after the war, and he owned his on race cars when he drove. I suspect he bought the car new, time tbd. My estimate is same vintage as the Lori B midget which was 1948 give or take. Was an ARDC type, never saw him venture into the AAA/USAC world unless a co sanctioned race in the east.

    Jim,
Jim Barclay is the proper spelling of his name - wonder why BARKLEY'S was lettered on the hood.
I think the car is the former Gordon McKim Offy? One of the last K.K. midgets built in 1952. I was hoping someone could positively identify it as the McKim Offy.

    Wynns#1,

This Linne Offy is the closest match with the Paul Baines Offy that I could come up with.

Here's one I found a while back when searching for colour photos of Tattersall's Mattoon Motors cars. I presume the painting is a true likeness of the car. I think this was done in New Zealand.

    Bob,
I don't know if the car was orange and white when Tattersall visited Australia. It was red and white when I saw it at Islip NY and Belmar NJ in 1963.

Bob Tattersall brought the Matoon Offy to Aust, twice. On the first trip it was painted black with silver lettering. Looked great ! On the second trip along with Jimmy Davies, and Johnny Tolan, the car was painted red, and white. He won about everything there was to win that year.

Hey Guys, I've seen the Hot Rod and Sprint Car threads, so how about we get a Cageless Midget thread going.

Monkaz, my father's midget was incorrectly lettered. too late to change!

Strange that the car uses Barclay's #39 as well. Coincidence???

Graham also drove for Jim. I have pictures somewhere.

    Jim,
The story I've heard is that Roy Graham bought the car from Gordon McKim in Cincinnati Ohio for Jim Barclay.
Graham did Barclay a "favor" and had the car lettered for him.
The McKim Offy was driven by Pat O'Connor and Potsy Goacher.
