thats such a cool find....but damn...thats a shame he cut that roadster up like that. Any plans of cutting off the quarters he welded to it and piecing it back together as a sectioned roadster?

Yes. The rear fender is still under under the *new* quarter, cut off in the back. That fender is still bolted to the inner fender which is in tach. The running boards are still there and go all the way back to the original rear fender. All that said, if you carefully cut the new quarters off, you would only have to patch the original quarter from the fender forward to the B pillar, and them the back half of the rear fender. It is actually a lot "easier" looking to repair then I thought when I bought it.

I would cut those quarters off and put it back how it was originally.

 

That car has been behind bars too long. Good thing that you got it sprung!
Now finish it they way he started it. I like the look of the new fenders.
Do something with the original front fenders to make some smooth lines, you dont want to lose the look of the original car in the process.

That's a great example of a car-type known as Specials. Restore it to its Special heritage and you've got a unique and wonderful piece of history that you can terasure forever.

It's worth more stock!! Cut that stuff off. Even if ya do end up sellin it. It will make the car better lookin and worth more cash

 

Heres some pics after hosing it out. Very rust free, has some typical rot in the floor behind seat, otherwise very solid. Even the frame is VERY nice. Notice original running boards that go all the way back...

 

Some of you guys forget that this was probably a 50.00 car that was driven out of the back row of a used car lot in the early 50's and then modified.

Chris are the original quarters under the fenders or did he cut them up in the process to get the fenders to fit?

I would feel the irresistable urge to go back. It is, however, very special with those 'new' quarters. Imagine it done right.

classic V streamline moderne.
Either way, it's a good thing. And a tough call.
