Awesome! Thanks Buddy! THe plug really means a lot to me. So, anyone need some work done? Nothin to big or to little.
I need my Shoebox chopped! When do we start? Seriously though, Shannon is a class act. He is one the hardest working individuals I know. He realized early on that it takes more than just a good eye and a set of tools to be able to build cars for a living. He put himself through school and graduated in the top of his class. There are a lot of hacks out there and in Colorado but Shannon is far from being one of them. I would be proud to have my car wear a Pot O'Gold Kustoms plaque when the time comes. For now, we are going to continue working on the 47 and should be updating that post real soon. Shannon, thanks for all your help.
Thanks for those kind words pete. I almost leaked a tear... but seriously. I hate seeing messed up work. To me a car is an art form. A masterpice. Why mess it up?
I saw that unibody at the hoedown, you did a super job on it. Mine was the dull white one at the other end of the block.
I saw that one. Oogled over yours for a bit. I have a 63 shortbox. 300 inline 4 speed rididcuously low.. Misss that thing. I still have it but she sits and waits on spare time.
I'd like to set mine a little lower, and some paint. but money halts both, and that crown vic front end, while being nice, is so wide you cant go a lot lower than where I am.
Mine is still straight axle. Lower than that unibody you saw at the show. Fun as hell to drive. But as you already said, money kills the forward progress pretty quickly.
Looks to me like you've already learned the most important part of being in business for yourself and that is YOUR WORK ETHIC. So many young guys go into a labor intensive career thinking that the kudos will be showered on them from the get go after seeing a few finished cars built by others featured in the magazines. Then the reality hits that those mag features are the result of endless hours of back breaking labor and the enthusiasm goes out the window. Your on the right track, keep it up. Frank
THank you sir. And you are right. I meet so many younger guys that want in right away and don't understand why they are not on TV or in a magazine within a year. I have been close, but I will make it soon enough and if I never do, that is OK to. My work shows itself. That's all I care about.
Hey Gearhead, Can you post some pictures of you truck, as I have a 64 and 65 and two crown vic front ends waiting to go in them and just want to see how low your's is. Any pic's of the front end with out the sheet metal and motor would be kool as well. Thanks Eric
hopefully I do not sound rude, but can you PM for that sort of thing? Not part of the thread. Thanks. And I apologize
Shannon does very nice metal work. Some may not like my car, but he fixed my old train wreck chop job. He made the back half of the roof look good. The paint on my car isn't perfect, but I specifically told Shannon I did NOT want a show car paint job. I run it at the track, and I park it at the bar (Note that I don't drink & drive any more, I put in automatic transmission so my wife can drive home ) For reasonably priced custom metal work, I think Shannon is a very good source, I really hope his shop is successful.
Met you in Albuquerque at the Rumbler's show. I am the guy with the chopped 49 Ford COE. Nice to see pics of all your work on past projects, keep it up! Hard work pays off.
Right on! I remember that truck. Pretty slick ride. I almost have that 36 completely finished. Those pix will be on here soon. Probably later tonight.
this 36 is almost there. SO close now. Had this one just over 8 months. I got it in a few boxes with nothing on it. No motor/trans and lots to do to it. So far so good. She will debut at greybeards indoor show in denver day after thanksgiving
I can't see the pics right now cause I'm at work. Drew sent me some cell pics the other day. Looks like you're pretty busy for sure. I'll check this post out again when I get home.
Waht's up!? Yeah drew has been around a lot lately. Finally getting stuff done to his A. When you plan on being back through here?
Beautiful work, and you're right about not noticing how low it is without a person next to it! That's waht really makes it even better looking to me. The fact that it looks fast just sitting still! Great work Choptvan!
