I agree, just have to wonder about parts availability. Drive train could be anything you wanted, but trim and body pieces may be tough to come by.
Never one to leave good enough alone, a turbo 2.3/5-speed out of a T-Bird Turbo coupe. Good gas mileage and big smiles in that little car
I believe they are Fords built in Germany. They had 3 speeds that had electric clutchs that disengaged when you moved the shifting lever. Don't remember if they had a clutch pedal also.
German Ford. From ?39?, but im def. sure from '49 to '69 German Fords were all badged Taunus, and actual model name was either G or P, P means Project, follwed by a number, P2 is the 57, later were P3 P4 P5..... then the displacement was identified by letter M, initial of some german word meaning masterpiece, and either 12/15/17/20/26. Enuff history, im not 100% positive, but it might be front wheel drive, and its tiny! For later models, think late 60s up i usually buy from these guys, quality is def. on the lower scale but theyre like the only taunus spare parts suppliers.. You better mail them thou as on the inline shop they dont have anything for early model years worth considerin but they can find parts on demand. http://www.motomobil.com/17m-p2,2329.html http://www.motomobil.com/ford-special,210.html
Man was that priced right, what a crowd that thing would pull. Cool to learn about these rides, thanx ~sololobo`
parts are rare even over here in Germany use Google translator to check our German website on the P2 series Taunus: http://www.fomcc.de/p2.htm
Thats a cool website! too bad its only in german. A 20m tudor P7 is one of my dream domestic cars! Kinda O/T, but do you know of other part stores other than Motomobil? im tired of bad quality repo parts, like windshiled wheaterstrips that are too large or too thight and body panels that need reshaping.....thanx. right. so if it is rwd i'd snap it in a heartbit for that price. you dont need many original parts for a custom/cruiser.
I love it! Buy it! You wont get a chance to come across something that uniquely cool again for that kind of money. He wanted to sell it by last friday,I hope he wasnt taking it to the crusher,It was already on a trailor and for that kind of money?????
looks to me that he was giving tell 10/21 to pick it up. $450 is about what that car will bring going across the scales. sure hope that is not the case though.
Wow that's cool, nice price too, $450 in FL gets you rust particles holding hands. hope someone buys it & posts the build.
Nope. Neither is my '51 Chevy. But my Chevy will be a traditional custom, and this Taunus could easily go the same route.
