Thank you Bruce. Most of my inspiration comes from the guys and their build threads here on the Hamb. It's flattering to hear I'm an inspiration to some people as well. Thanks.

Bruce as Eric said it's great for someone to get inspiration from our builds, we all need it at some point.

Any chance you will bring your car here to the states some summer and do a tour of car events? I would sure like to see it in person. Exterminator

Build threads and the Friday Art Shows are how I spend most of my time on the HAMB. Evidently I like to beat myself up looking at stuff I'm not able to do. LOL!

Langy, I think you set the standard for attention to detail--the stuff you machine is incredible!

I've been thinking about the same thing. Only problem I see are the costs involved with regards to time off work, accomodation and shipping. (1000 usd east coast and 1500 usd west coast, one way.) So when you add it all up, you're looking at more than 5000 usd for a couple of weeks........But would be damn good though!!!

Just bring it to the east coast (cheaper of the two), we'll show you around and there's plenty to do and see! :D

Had a good day today! I went ahead and started fabricating the frame for the steering column drop. I'm using the frame of the pedal set to attach it to, considering this is completely welded to the firewall which is nearly 4mm thick. The right side is bolted on to the rear of the brake booster frame.

After all the welding was done,(I know,it's an odd shape, but its very strong), I got it to fit except for one bolt which was 1 mm offset. The column drop is going to be bolted to the thick flat piece, but it looks like I'm going to have to shave a mm or two off the bottom of the dash for it to clear it.

It's off to work for me now. Monday I'm going to clean up the frame and install it completely, including the column drop.

If you ever make it to the States with your car I'd love to challenge you to an old school drag race. 2 Kustoms going down the 1/4 mile smoking the tires the whole way.:D Sounds fun to me. The car looks great Eric. Did you ever decide on a color or did I miss that somewhere?

If the car and I ever makes it to the States, you're on! The color has been a discussed a few pages back and it's going to be black. Here's a photoshop of my car I posted previously. It is going to be high gloss.

Sinister is the word that describes it perfectly. This will be it's name once she's all done. (next year hopefully)

Eric , Did you build your brake peddle assembly or is it from a car ?
Buy the way thank you for sharing your build. It's the best I have seen.

Thank you. The brake pedal assembly is made by Kugel Komponents. The brake booster and dual reservoir are positioned at 90 degrees, so it's hidden under the dash instead of in the engine bay. Glad you like the build thread!

It took quite a bit longer than anticipated, but I got the column drop bolted in place. It now looks like I will need an extra coupling in the steering linkage in order to clear the engine mount. The column drop will be painted black, by the way.

Installed the gauges in the dash to make sure they're visible and that's there is enough clearance to the brake booster and reservoir behind them. All ok.

looking good Eric. Are you sure you want to paint the column drop black though... It kind of goes with the gauges and the steering wheel/column. I would leave it be, but that is me. It is looking nice though. So are you going to drive it around to work everything out before tearing it down for paint. I am sure someone has asked that at some point, even me, but have the plans changed?

Thanks 1959apache. I just feel that the column drop has quite a large polished surface. I'll leave it for the time being though. Maybe I'll cover it with some black paper to see how it looks later on in the build. To answer your other question.....I won't be driving it until she's completely finished.

Just a thought, you could have someone maybe pinstripe Sinister on that part of the column drop or somehow make a bolt on badge out of letters and have it bolt on right there to hide it (that way you can still paint it). I agree it is pretty large.
