vintage drags in s.c.

well we are gonna try this again. vintage drags at midway dragway in greeleyville, s.c. on saturday december 3rd from noon till 6. this is a very loosely organized event that me and some friends are having along with the track owners. run your 1972 and older car, truck ,bike or minibike in the eighth of a mile as many times as you want for $10.00 admission. all bike riders MUST wear a helmet and if your car is real fast, wear a helmet. theres no trophys, everybody is a winner, although we will give out something hand made for what we think is the hottest car on the track. camping overnight is free and they have clean restrooms and food will be available. midway will have there regular sat. night event after we're done so you can stay for that if you want. Spectators are very much welcome and anyone just wanting to bring their cool old ride for all to see. This event is about just having fun.

 

we would love for you to come and just hang out, or you could run that stude truck just to see what she'll do.

 

i talked to mr. bobby minus yesterday from sav. ga. and he said he would bring his landspeed buick and run it for the hell of it. its got a blown straight 8 and 5 speed.

 

does anyone know greg porter from pickens, s.c. ? we sure would like to have him and his 55 chevy gasser there.

And of course this is when I move away. Well I may have to plan a long road trip to come up here just to see the show and some friends.

Yes, that is the Hundley & Boggs Kellison AA/FD recreation built for Marty Harrison by J.Ed Horton at Horton Race Cars/Hartman Machine in Belton, SC. The original car was raced out of Charleston, WV. They are taking the car to the California Hor Rod Reunion later this month. There was a fire up after lunch.J.Ed usually has 2 BBQ'S a year, 1 in the spring and 1 in the fall. Several Hamber's usually attend.

 

i did the lettering on it for marty and i met the whole gang at bowling green.

For the camping, is there a shower house or just bathrooms. Trying to line a few to go from the beach area.

i'm in the process of building, designing and painting the one trophy that will be given out.

 

well the engine in the old junker is back together, I will hopefully have it fired in the am. Trans crossmember and a few other little doo dads and I should be ready to make a few super scary passes.
