    Guess I'll start this week. What I'm currently working on. A couple of built ups from ebay. 1st picture is how they came in the mail. Other two are how they look right now.

    I've already posted some pics of this model, but recently converted this one to black and white and thought it looked pretty cool.

    Here's the original that inspired the model. A car built by a friend of my Dad's back in the late forties.

    Kinda late but I'll get my latest pics in. Some time ago I show the initial mockup pics of my '34 PU project. I've done a lot of work since then but it's all just to clean up the mods made to the cab, bed and frame. I decided to do new mockup with different components.

    This first mock up is with the original intended components.

    Now with '32 Chrysler wheels/tires on the rear;

    [IMG]

    And finally, a whole different look;

    [IMG]

    The tires are from the latest AMT '25 T kit, the wheels from the Revell '32 Ford 3 window and the engine from the Revell Tweedy Pie 2 kit. I'm leaning towards this version.

    Do you have any more pics of that vacuum forming setup? I'm considering giving it a try

  25. I'll try to get some tomorrow when there's better light. I used a project box and perf board, both from Radio Shack. I used plumbing fittings to mate up with the hose from my shop vac. I got the idea from a magazine more than 20 years ago. I built one back then but it is long gone. I built this one over the weekend.

    For the fitting, I made bulkhead fitting from a PVC "Male adapter"; it's got male threads on one side. You'll need a lock nut from the electrical aisle at Lowe's/Home Depot. You'll need to make a gasket. I used Cork for that and added caulking just to be safe. I used a 1 1/2" male adapter then went up to 2" for my shop vac hose. I also added a "pier" type support in the middle of the perf board because this shop vac is pretty strong. This is maybe a 20 dollar project. I'd like to build a bigger one that uses a vacuum tank for a second stage. That's in the future, though.

    My entry this week, hope you like. Chrome foiling done by FC59 ( cause I'm not up to it)
    The drops on the last couple are rain drops, after that the skies opened up.
