Hopefully not OT. Heading to the mountain side of Denver so I am searching for cl***ic truck / hot rod shop(s) to visit. I found an older thread on here about Denver hot rod shops but it seems like things are out of date. I found Pinkees and it looks pretty cool with top notch work. Any others that should be seen or upcoming events? How about a good family place to eat with a good food and atmosphere (not fast food)? Thanks Hambers!

I don't spend a lot of time in Denver, though I know Greybeards Productions is having their fall rod & custom show over Thanksgiving weekend. There is also a pretty cool rod shop downtown, Streamline I believe is the name.

Been a few years since I was last there. I think cars are by invite only, but I could be wrong. Spectator tickets are available for a discount at O'Reilly Auto parts. Mostly Hot Rods and Customs, though, again I don't know if there is a cut off for year or body style. I think it is pretty H.A.M.B friendly if that helps. It's at the Convention Center this year which is a more upscale venue with good lightling and fresh air.

No, the cars are not "by invite only"...anyone can send in a registration...and a picture or two is REQUIRED...however, the promotor does reserve the right to refuse cars...

Cool. Is there a cut off for year of manufacture?

Also hit Krazy Kreations, Rick always has something in the works, not for everyone but his stuff is for sure one off and usually well built. His shop is now just south of 7th on Valejo.
Rarely anything to see at Gearhead Graphics though.. ha

If you decide to head on through the colorado springs area, give me a call. I would be happy to tell you the good spots/ bad spots etc. And a small shop tour here at my place if you would like. Name is shannon. 719-358-6981. However, I highly rec the fore mentioned shops. Pinkees and Custom Auto

Hey thanks for all the tips! Just got back and didn't have as much time as I thought with all the family schtuff goin on (huh, imagine that ). The only place I got to see was Rocky Mountain Street Rods which was not far off the planned excursion route one day. I would recommend stopping there as they had some really nice iron (maybe not all HAMB freindly but cool nonetheless - i.e 4-71 blown flathead A sedan, '32 roadster, '32 5 window w/nailhead, channeled '32 Ford highboy pickup, '41 Ford pickup, and a pinto powered track tee) and the people were super friendly. Even got a tour of their shop that had a slightly crunched up older hot rod flamed '32 5 window :(. Next time I'll definitely try to hit some of these other suggestions. Thanks again!
