  1. Here are a few pics from the '64 Olds rearend installation. we used Art Morrison ladder bars and Jegs floaters.

These brackets all had to be cut off and the housing cleaned up.

Love the Impala seats! Mine has '67 Camaro seats but Impalas would look cooler with their chrome trim.

Lookin' good guys! One question for Kev though - ever have any problems (wear or handling) when running floaters on the street? Just curious, 'cause I have heard good and bad, and have no personal experiance.

  10. All they do is eliminate bind , I don't forsee any problems. You would have to put a lot of miles on before wear became an issue. Some kind of lube in there would be a good idea to eliminate any possible squeaking, grease or graphite maybe. The rear springs need to be re arched to raise the rear a little.

Since I have a set of 8" Hurst Cheater Slicks I think I'll just go with 8" chrome reverse wheels. And get my rear springs re-arched to bring the *** end up a little bit.

  17. man ya got the front almost high enough! but yeah the *** needs to come up some,I had to have a set of springs made for my 56 I had found a couple of cracks in the old ones also............ya can NEVER go to high (almost)

HEY YO MEATBALL, WHAT'S UP? Yeah, I like the front where it is so I'll try it where it is first. But like I was saying before the rear needs to come up. So where did you go to have your springs made?

  19. I had a guy named Ivan at Arizona spring make them here in tucson,They are really longer than stock to get the curve right,I tool the car to him and he crawled under in and bam out came a *****in set of springs.its a little stiff but not bad,I also hace a set of high jackers to make sure it sits just right when needed.I was going to flipthe rearend but I have *******s on it and thats gotta stay like I said we found cracks in the 56 stock springs maybe from being tweaked with airshocks for 35 years........FYI I painted it all with applaince paint I got in rattle cans at Lowes,it looks like powder coating but cheap and damn near bulletproof

Shackles? Ya in the 70's :D

  21. It's looking great! I love the seats... they look right at home. The whole package works.

On the floaters... drove my '55 around with them for a couple of years... and did notice a little noise after that time.

The round bushing did indeed wear a notch in the plates... but I hadn't put any grease on them, which I should have.

The noise was the bushing popping out of the notch when I would turn into a drive way or something.

Not a big deal... and easily fixed with some grease, and just removing the plates and welding up the notches... then griding them smooth.

I believe mine were JEGS floaters... I really like their design.

Keep up the good work kev!

Had set of custom rear springs made for my Falcon and I'm really happy with them, much much better than breaking another spring from long shackles.
