I really don't know...I do know on A and B engines, a diamond block was a replacement block and supposedly a higher nickle block. Just stick with a 59AB. Every damn 8BA I have ever owned was cracked...I would say 8BA's are most prone to cracking just by my personal experience.

CHris you told me today you block one of the carbs off on all of your engines because they can't handle the fuel of two. Don't front like those are anything hot!!! If I've got a 307 then you own up to your block off plates. Just kidding, those are beautiful engines and you don't have to prove yourself. I know you're the real deal and I'm just a crappy rat rodder. :D

Yeah I was just asking for information/education purposes. I really have no business building something even remotely close to race ready. I'm just shooting for relatively warmed over. I would like to know more about these Miller Prepped race engines and why LazyV8 chose to ground the castings off.

Read this post front to back, I can relate, a friend practically gave me an identical motor, he also told me that he knew what it was worth and felt it was in good hands. I was overcome with good vibes. after years of shoveling shit messing with old cars it felt really good to get the serious hookup. your car rules btw. Nor cal is great, theres good people there, lady A's is great and I'm sure I've been to the shop in Hayward. it's been awhile.

the main reason for me smoothing the block is all for looks... the motor would be in the coupe by now if it wasnt for me taking things to far..oh well .it will look all hella badass..yes i typed that right. but grinding the casting does actually make the block stronger in areas by removing stress risers. i never realized how rough these blocks are until i had to smooth one out!!
we need to start a hamb fundraiser to fix JJs '35.. ''THE JEFFERY JAMES FLATHEAD FUND RAISER'' ..lets help this poor 5 window aquire a real mill..
