I really like James D's version of that Olds; it's subtle, yet eye-catching. Visually warm and cool at the same time.

Just for fun, I created a negative version to see what I would get.

You need a whole lot more contrast between light and dark tones to make metallic looking paints, like silver. Look how dark the dark tones are on this...

Can somebody slam this and put it on black steelies with and without pinwalls? Also, would like to see what a visor would look like on it.

    Thanks,
    Terry

  6. Thanks James for the tip. Heck, that sample pic you provided, you can just paint the cab, hood, and box flat blue; it's done. But we don't want to make it that easy:D

Thanks MOguy. It really did need a visor and a ride height adustment. Still can't make up my mind on the tires though. Great job!

    Take Beebing's Dry Lakes Racer.
Add Madfish's slant window and solid panels.

Extend the nose a few inches, lose the headlights,
add numbers, and move it to Bonneville.

Hey there. The first pict is of my car currently (41 Chevy Coupe). 2nd pict is photoshop someone did in another post, nice job. I was wondering if someonecould take the 2nd pict and move the rear of the roof forward, in essence shortening the roof and shrinking the quarter windows the same bit.
    Thanks
    Paul

I did a slightly different chop and a version with the shortened roof.

Getting ready to paint. Could someone shoot this in Washington Blue or Monsoon Maroon or any color you think look right? It will be shiny and the exhaust will be semi gloss black. Your choice of wheel color.
Thanks much to all the photo-shop gods.[IMG]

Here you go, Paul. The first shot is the original chop. The second is with the roof moved forward. Getting the rear quarter window looking good was a finicky job. Worse in real life, I think!

This is my dads truck, it was built about 13 years ago, and now he's looking to change the way it looks paint wise. I suggested a satin navy blue body, and maybe a silver flake roof. He has silver steelies for it already so no comments on the wheels haha. If anyone wants to shop it the way I suggested so I can show him it'd look cool that'd be awesome!!

  23. Don't know what software you're using, but look for something like "Hue & Saturation" or "HSL" in the tools or filters choices. There should be a way to select "Reds" or "Magentas" and move some sliders to increase or decrease the saturation, hue and lightness of a particular range of colors.

Though in this case the flamingo will probably be affected as well...

I’m giving this car to my wife (see here):

Would someone please paint it pink with a white top, add chrome five-spoke mags (Astro? Raidir?), and maybe Bellflower tips?

    Thanks,

    Dave
