This car is for sale in the Atlanta area right now and I have some questions about how it was built, miles on the motor, etc. The guys that have it listed know nothing about it. The grille emblem says "Tut's" or something like that. Anyone know this car or who owns it? Thanks in advance... -Ron
I would guess that it was built by Tut Thompson out of Douglasville GA. He has been around for a long time and has build a lot of nice cars.
Here's the ad:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VERY...rs_Trucks&hash=item415ec53bf5#ht_27715wt_1002 Lots of pix to show how it's built.....
Thanks for the info. How can I get ahold of him. Is he on here? The sellers don't know any of the details on the car...
I can't access the "whitepages.com" from work here, but look there for a "Tut Thompson" in Douglasville, Ga. and see if it clicks. There was an older fellow widely known in Atlanta known as "Tut", who had "Tut's Garage", But this guy was a Flathead builder / racer back in the day that built some kick ass alcohol flatheads!............................ I would not think this to be his handiwork. I knew another "Tut" in Atlanta, by the last name of "Tutterow", but he is since deceased since '04 or '05. That's all I know about "Tut's" The people selling it can't tell you who it's on consignment from, ( if that's the case)?
They won't let me talk to the guy since it's on consignment. They said they may be able to do a conference call with him, blah, blah, blah... The way most of these consignment deals work is they want retail to the tenth power from you and don't want to pay the owner anything for the vehicle. They're not interested in a fair deal for all. I was curious how the car drives with the leaf spring set up in the rear, how many miles are on the motor, if the trans has a shift kit, etc...
For a sales group to say they know "Nothing" about the car and then launch into a detailed description of everything used to build the car is a bit fishy to me.
That's the "OH MY GOD, SOME IDIOT FELL FOR IT" price. There's an offer box below. Plus, it appears to be a new car. Glass or steel, you couldn't get one built for that. Glass is class, steel rusts.
If you find out who owns it and don't make a deal, let me know your info please....i'd be interested if your not, but like you, I want to deal with the owner. Donnie 251-649-5397
Unbelievable what they want for glass cars.... Not even an impressive drive train. A fool and his money are soon parted.
Fordor Ron, I have seen this car in Tut's shop. Very sharp well built car. You can reach Tut at 770-459-1648. Tut's Garage 1257 S.Van Wert Rd Villa Ricca, GA. 30180 Off I-20 close to the Alabama state line. Tut builds a few cars a year and every one is flawless. Regards, A-Model Art
nice looking car but I never buy any thing consigned. Learned the hard way many years ago when I was young and stupid.
Call the owner and talk price-in a sale from him to you without the dealers fee. (Once the consignment is over. That is, if they don't hook someone bottom fishing on the buy it now price).
Tut is a good friend of mine. He can be reached at (770) 459-1648. By the way - his 32 is super n ice cosmetically and mechanically!!!! George
