One night last month I was setting out at a local parking lot. This guy in a 58 fenderless, primered, pinstriped VW drove up and we got to talking.

I told him that I had one back in the 70s and that I had put an Oriental rug in it for carpet. He said cool, he was going to look for one.

Well I found one last weekend at the Conroe Swap meet. I bought it and it's going in my model A pickup.

Looks like I'm going to have to remove the Mexican seat cover.

Should have it in for the Autorama in Houston. We'll be in the back section with the clubs.

  2. I put an oriental rug in a '57 Chebby wagon in the '70s. The rug was huge. I matched the designs all the way to the tail gate cover. Phsycodelic maaaan.

My wife did that in her '51 Bel Air. It was cheap and fit with only a few modifications, and looked good!

Wild. I suppose you could use patterned carpet from any decade for a unique, period-appropriate floor covering (in a car, that is).

  7. Poor goal not very enthusiastic. Now shaggin' in a '60s van that is a good goal. In the words of a very old and tru friend, I never really liked hippies but I do like hippy chicks.

They really look nice in Pre 1916 Brass era cars. Cars look good parked on them as well.

  12. I'm gonna cut one up to put in my canned ham trailer.

Don't think in a car is the best idea.
