One night last month I was setting out at a local parking lot. This guy in a 58 fenderless, primered, pinstriped VW drove up and we got to talking. I told him that I had one back in the 70s and that I had put an Oriental rug in it for carpet. He said cool, he was going to look for one. Well I found one last weekend at the Conroe Swap meet. I bought it and it's going in my model A pickup. Looks like I'm going to have to remove the Mexican seat cover. Should have it in for the Autorama in Houston. We'll be in the back section with the clubs.
I put an oriental rug in a '57 Chebby wagon in the '70s. The rug was huge. I matched the designs all the way to the tail gate cover. Phsycodelic maaaan.
My wife did that in her '51 Bel Air. It was cheap and fit with only a few modifications, and looked good!
Wild. I suppose you could use patterned carpet from any decade for a unique, period-appropriate floor covering (in a car, that is). -Dave
Poor goal not very enthusiastic. Now shaggin' in a '60s van that is a good goal. In the words of a very old and tru friend, I never really liked hippies but I do like hippy chicks.
haha, i have some in my truck (and green furry stuff in the compartments under the seat) Being an old work truck all its life i would like to know which of the owners thought it up
