The car looks good in photos, but looks far better in person, the color combination really works well. I'm used to the fendered look, but the highboy look may need a taller rear tire to fill the wheel well. Maybe another set of black wheels and tires is what you need. The neat thing about a '32 is the fact that the fenders on-off time is so much quicker than a Model A.

Great looking car, and I`ve admired it for a while. The colour combo works well and sets it apart from other deuces.I , in my own opinion, would leave all the sheet metal intact...I like the look of a Hopped Stocker, where the money spent, went into go instead of show...it just looks so right in your avatar.

Highboys will always be cool, but it`s getting to be the norm almost, and your car seems to have a character that most deuces seem to lack...but either way, it`s a nice looking car, you`re a lucky man.

Add in the fact that almost all of the fiberglass Deuce roadsters are HIBOYS ... ( lots cheaper to build :) ) the full fendered 32 Fords just look better to me. Of course, I may be biased.

  4. No fenders for summer, and fenders for winter?
I love both looks. Its a beautiful car.

  5. One way it spells CLASSY, the other direction it says "I'm a HOT ROD!"
Don't close up any bolt holes, detail the frame a little better and switch back and forth every few years or months as your mood suites you.
I do love the hiboy look although I am prejudiced.

We'll need some shots of the fender storage area. Having a garage lift would allow you to hand them in position from the celing, sort of like a Ford factory body drop photo.:D...........Wait a minute, is that why you are thinking of having a Garage Nite setup this winter?

  16. After spending the last two days picking up branches and four trips to the town yard I got back to the roadster. Made hiboy headlight mounts from a Model A bar I picked up at Lake Compounce Sunday. Waiting a little longer before taking the rest of the 32 apart. Today the weather was the best. All that snow is gone.

Nice welding, are those 30-31 headlights? You had '32 lights with the full fender look correct?

  22. The headlights are the same 32's. I used the ends of a 28/29 bar for the mounts.

I hate to throw frozen water on your parade, but IMHO, I liked it better with fenders.

but what the heck do I know?

    thanks for the reports!

  24. It will most likely end up back with fenders after I get this hiboy thing out of my system. Maybe a year or ten:rolleyes: besides i will need to get all that sheet metal out of my bedroom:eek:

  25. Finished the headlights. Love being able to see the tires while driving.

  26. Your deuce looks good with or without the fenders. If you do put the fenders back on, I like the idea of painting the body and fenders as 1 color. The contrast between 2 different colors doesn't work IMO. Have fun building it your way. I can hardly wait to see the finished product.

  27. I like Hiboys but yours looks better with fenders!!!

  28. That car looks killer without the fenders...

Run it with out fenders for a while, then put 'em back on. You have the great ability and parts to do both. It's like having two cars. I do agree however that one color does look better on '32's.
