Some day I'd like to have an Oval Grilled '40 Ford COE, but saw a nice looking 1950 COE at Hershey last month. Is there a big differance in inside cab room on the 40 vs 50 cabs? What are other plus and minus features?

    When were the last COEs?

This one is not a COE, but a successor of sorts. Still runs and drives, anyone interested?

The last COE's were probably the Fords built up till the early 70's. I always called them half-cabovers. Can't think of any others right now. Anyone else?

After thinking about it, I suppose these count too. Up into the mid-80's.

The top Ford is an LCF and the bottom one is a Tilt Cab. The tilt cabs have always been called cab overs.

it would depend partially on what your COE is, I measured my 56 Mercury COE and it will fit quite well on an E350 chassis by the looks of it, but an older COE might be too small.

This is pretty cool.....'38 Ford derrick truck. The platform extends upward for working on power lines, etc. I stole the pics from the Ford truck site (FTE)....

looking at a ford f500 coe low 50's like 52 or something.
does everything line up for steering and such in the e350??

I'm worrying more on the front steering wheel and engine than the rear/frame i can extend the frame easily.

    something like this

I recently picked this up. It's an unfinished project with a Toronado clip in front. If anyone has suggestions on how to hook up a steering column to a box that is pretty much right under your feet, I'm all ears. Is there an exceptionally wide power rack that I could use to replace the Toronado center link? If I could install a rack and rotate it so the input shaft is pointed forward, that would get me most of the way there.

Look at using a 1999 Chevy van steering box to see if that may work for you. Box points straight up in the iar and drag link goes side to side.

Test fit my dodge cab on my newly acquired 73 chevy / Mitchel motorhome chassis. Im in a build race with the ford guy in Arvada (junk-junkie), my steering should be much easier to deal with. : )

The 98+ Isuzu Rodeo has a rack&pinon the has the input shaft facing forward and a angled reverser box to get the steering column to reach it. I'm not sure if it is what your looking for though.
