Nice ride Johnny! I'm like you I LOVE the gassers!

  5. Didn't that car run M/SP ?

  6. Not the fastest, nor most recognized or most famous, but the '69 Mustang
" Hi-Po 'Stang " C/G, D/G ran by Ron Whitson for the old Mayfair Auto Parts in Taylor, Mich. has my vote. I wrenched and pitted on it when I was 16, so I'm a little partial. Anybody know where that car is now??

Being from up there in the Panhandle, maybe you can locate a pic of what was my favorite gasser......the B/G '32 Coupe (black) from Floydada, TX called the Chadwick & Hardy ( Driver Kelly Chadwick, Builder Don Hardy). This was around 1960-62 ....as I remember. Fastest car off the line I ever saw....during that period of drag racing. I saw it primarily at Amarillo Dragway.....
I've tried and tried to find a surviving pic of that famous coupe but so far have been unable to. Thought maybe you being from up there in Earth that you might know someone that would remember the car and maybe know where there is a pic..

The car was for sale in Lubbock in the late 60's/early 70's. I don't know where it went. Don Hardy is still in business in Floydada.

Here is something interesting in the KS version of the Football..... "Polly"-dyne is still on the nose even though it's no longer badged for Isky.

Koko motion is one of my favorite gassers of all time. I had this car in my head the whole time while building my Henry J.

Still wouldn't trade my car for it though.

I also love this car. It's legendary to me. I have heard about this car for years from many of the locals, then I found it in Wisconsin. I never owned it, but I have followed along with the build and gave my bits of the story to help fill in the gray areas for the new owner.

I agree it should have Chrysler power. Even a 426 Wedge like the front fender says.
